This is a delicious Rosé Champagne.
Light salmon in color with a peachy hue.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Nicely balanced with medium sized bubbles.
Showing raspberries, limes, citrus, green apples, grapefruits, herbs, yeast, spices, sea salt and minerals.
Needs 45 minutes to air properly, bring in more complexity, and smooth out the bubbles.
Rich and full of delicious red fruits, with a smooth mouthfeel. Not bitter nor tart, which I just loved. Tangy and interesting.
Easy drinking and good by itself, especially once it opens up, and good with food too.
A good choice to drink on the boat, with some beautiful weather.
100% Pinot Noir grapes.
12% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

My last bottle. When it comes to big house producers, Charles Heidsieck may very well be my favorite. This 2006 rosé has 8-10% still red wine in it, and spent about seven years before disgorgement.
This was opened alongside a Ulysse Collin Les Maillons (which is one of my favorite grower champagnes, yet I’m out at their increasing price point). The inherit sweetness here is so divine. More balanced than the bottle I opened 2-3yrs ago, yet more compact than the 2007 I opened a few months ago. Required about an hour to come in to its own. Salmon-colored in the glass with an intoxicating nose…strawberry shortbread, toasted pastries (cranberry scone), faint limestone. Typical CHeidsieck palate with richness but great focus…turns a bit darker red fruit driven but already possesses a mature-profile with nougat and spiced red fruits at the finish. Definitely some flair of orange zest too. Benchmark vintage rosé! — 21 days ago
Another rendition of one of my favorite wines, a most sensual and erotic wine. An alluring deep salmon rose color in the glass with nice effervescence of small bubbles. The nose immediately shows as sweet, sweeter than I would expect but that soon dissipates. Strawberries up front with red cherries and a touch of apple. Crushed herbs and mild spice after some time. There’s a floral aspect here that’s outstanding, as well.
So many rosé champagnes are so similar in ambition and execution that it’s nice to find something that’s a marked step above. 90/10 Pinot Noir/Chardonnay and disgorged in October of 2019 with a dosage of 9 g/l. Nervy and thrilling, it’s an exciting champagne that doesn’t skimp on power. Good balance and structure with a vinous nature. Playful and teasing, without a trace of austerity.
Pure sex in the mouth with candied raspberries and more wild strawberries. Blood orange, grapefruit, and passion for days. Peaches, melons, and romance. A little chalk, a little lust. One of my favorites, year in year out. — 5 days ago
