M & I’s contribution for OTBN was the 2009 Ridge Monte Bello. I love everything Ridge, and this was my first time trying the Monte Bello. A true classic. This wine was more earth and rustic than the Staglin. Winemaker notes best describe this wine as deep ruby/purple; blackberry, red current, ripe cassis, cedar, crushed rock minerality, toasted oak; Full-body, rich tannin structure, dark berry fruit, firm acid, wet-stone, juniper, forest floor, cola, and lingering exotic oak spice finish. — 25 days ago

Blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, from Monte Bello Vineyard, deep Ruby with purple edges, aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and toasty oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and ripe blueberry with vanilla, cedar and tobacco. Fine defined tannins, long finish ending with fruit, toasty and earthy notes.
