Quarts de Chaume Chenin Blanc 2005

Opened for Joan/Brett visit. Excellent dessert wine with honeyed yellow flowers balanced by minerals and acids carrying through to palate and pleasant finish. Yum! Even better nine days later stored in Forestor bottle. Almost explosive tropical fruit notes balanced by excellent acidity and finish. Adding two points. Yum!! — a month ago

Savennières Chenin Blanc 2017

Really like this Wine, tasting ‘17 & ‘18 together, ‘17 notes. The Baumard family growing the noble Chenin at Rochefort in the Anjou for centuries, in 1953 they acquired a vineyard in the Quarts de Chaume, & in 1968, purchased acreage in Savennieres. Straw with full fruit and light spice aromas. On the palate ripe apple, pear & melon, complex, with vivid acidity. Lingering, ending with mineral and sweet honey character. Wow. A white that should age well. Had ‘16 a while ago, and also great! — 9 months ago

Clos du Papillon Savennières Chenin Blanc 2015

In 1953, Jean Baumard acquired vineyard in Quarts de Chaume, in 1968, purchased substantial acreage in Savennieres. Today Jean’s son, Florent, manages the winery. Aromas of green fruits, floral and flinty notes. On the palate green apple, pear, melon and slight nutty flavors, well balanced with acidity. Medium+ length ending, no fluttering with fresh juicy mineral, just like the butterfly on the label! Will age well if you can resist opening. — 2 years ago

Le Malabé Bonnezeaux Chenin Blanc 1984

Vintage 1984 | Yellow gold colour. Slightly oxy in smell with dominant flint, minerals, when I close my eyes it seems I am entering a tuffeau cellar. Drinkable, merely curiosity Chenin Blanc. Day 1 No ranking. With Indian Vadouvan Biscuits. Day 2 Amazing transformation with a beautiful Bonnezeaux character. So: needs a whole lot aeration! With Asian take away. — a month ago

Coteaux du Layon Chaume 1er Cru Chenin Blanc 2007

Vintage 2007 | My goodness. Chaume is such a privileged location. And happily... one that a lot of people do not know yet. Claude Papin is a top winegrower. Mahony colour. Deep mahony. A smell with figs and honey. Lavendel honey. Awesome balanced taste. A Chenin Blanc that belongs to the top of the world. | Paired with duck liver from Hofstede de Blaak — 9 months ago

Bold with honeyed apricot, but not heavy like sauternes. It is amazing with rich foods, such as foie gras — 2 years ago

Quarts de Chaume Chenin Blanc 2014

Vintage 2014 | Young Chenin Blanc that gets a bit gold color in the glass. Sumptuous wine with lots of lavendel honey, beautiful botytrised smell, orange zest, quite a good acidity that ensures a long life. Paired with savarin a l’orange. — 6 months ago

16.5/20 (91/100) Аромат лимонного мармелада, липовый цвет, мёд, ваниль. Кислотность выше среднего, но хотелось бы больше. Насыщенное во вкусе. Очень хорошо! — 2 years ago
