Les Perrières Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay 2018

Aromas of golden delicious apple, nuts, white flowers and a touch of oak. Lemon lime flavors are offset by mineral, white flowers and a hint of vanilla. Straw gold color. Nice balance. Liked it chilled! Excellent QPR. — a day ago

La Verchere Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay 2006

No notes, a quiet celebration for my wife and me as I have successfully ticked another box in the years-on-planet category today. Feeling older...I think.

Barraud 2006 La Verchère VV Pouilly-Fuissé, I promise I'll get to notes on this 2006 vintage at some point, we have plenty more to go still. Lightly honeyed on nose & palate, in a decent spot. Decanted 90m.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our Conductor Anna Rakitina (BSO’s Assistant Conductor) is leading Elena LANGER (Figaro Gets a Divorce, Orchestral Suite), RAVEL (Piano Concerto in G) and ELGAR (Opus 36, Enigma Theme). The soloist for the piano concerto tonight is none other than Jean-Yves Thibaudet, our absolute favorite pianist (or piano-player as Emanuel Ax has been noted to say because he thinks the traditional term sounds funny when spoken), a never-to-be-missed event for us whenever he plays these hallowed grounds. (In 2004 Jean-Yves served as president of the Hospices de Beaune, factoid for any wine nerds who are also classical music nerds.)

Happy Birthday! No party with celebrities on the Vineyard? Scared of MoDo backlash, eh?

@David L @Ming L Thank you.
@Pinotman /// Andreas Very nice. Rafael Payare was a guest conductor at Tanglewood during the last season (Summer 2019).
@Tom Casagrande I usually stay off that crazy island, besides I got uninvited from that party. Our local celebration will be in the Berkshires in a couple weekends, schedules seem challenging this summer, but we'll be drinking cool stuff eventually.

En France Pouilly-Fuisse Chardonnay 2011

Spring 2021. 10 years is a great age for the denser Maconnais wines - enough time to develop richness and complexity but not so much as to fade all the fruit. — a month ago

Spring / summer 2021. More balanced than the warm 2018, but needs a little time for the elements to come together a bit. — a month ago
