A few days late here—really enjoyed this one from Mexico. A chalky earthiness, pleasantly underripe dark fruits. — 2 days ago

Lava Vine

Suisun Valley Petite Sirah 2015

Very dark. Smells resinous and berry-lucious. Forests and good humus come to mind. Flavors are nice. It’s dry and very tannic, but it’s got nice anise, licorice stuff to go with the plum and dark berries. Very complex and filled with flavor. This is classic, classy Petite. — 21 days ago

Peppercorn, dark plum, sour cherry - but it’s hard to tell since it’s so… #winelifebalance

Is it still cool to make hashtags? or do I have to dance on camera to a weird song yet?

Landy Vineyard Petite Sirah 2013

Very little Petite Sirah left in the RRV, dominated by Pinot's, however David Rossi has done wonders! Very dark Ruby with aromas of deep dark fruit and exotic spices. On the palate big flavors of blackberry and ripe blueberry with smoky oak, floral notes and dusty drying smooth tannins. Well balanced on a long finish ending with a mineral character. — 4 days ago

Russian River Valley Petite Sirah 2017

In a vertical tasting w 2016 and 2018. Plum, Black raspberry, black tea, green pepper. Some nice tannins. A bigger wine than the 2016. Lots going on here. Will continue to improve for a while, but dang it’s good now. I preferred it over the 16. — 23 days ago

Hawk and Horse Vineyards

Red Hills Lake County Petite Sirah 2017

Dark purple in color with a purplish rim.

Nice nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, sweet cedar, light earth, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, tobacco, chocolates, coffee and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and smooth

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cherries, wood, spices, vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates, light earth and herbs.

Medium on the finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This is a very tasty Petite Sirah from Lake County. A nice sipping wine that doesn't need food at all. Easy drinking with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. I gave it a couple of hours in a decanter.

This Single Vineyard is tasty, spicy and interesting. Really enjoyed the nose here.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

100% Petite Sirah grapes where grown at 2,200 feet of elevation. Aged in (40% new) French Oak barrels. A small production of only 150 cases.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

91 points.
