2010 the last of my stock from visiting his bodega. End of its life, at least how I stored it. Very silky smooth tannins. Vanilla on the end with light dark crust just before. enjoyable for 1/2 the bottle but the light was going out after. Little past it’s prime but still drinkable.
I have had a whole vertical from this man, worth it to go back and get more — 10 months ago
Ehh I appreciate the funkiness of it, but I don’t think I’m enjoying it. Minerality, apples, bread? Idk it’s meh — a year ago
Lower acidity in this, but not silky tannins either. A beautiful dry Italian red.
Taste: Stewed strawberries but without the sweetness, light black pepper... I didn’t leave enough to do a proper tasting I was just enjoying drinking it. — 10 months ago
I personally thing the ratings are too low. I’m loving this. No straw vibes from other champagnes, the flavor profile has both rich fruit like a tart green apple and some tropical fruit vibes having a hard time placing it during this birthday dinner. Mango? I think not. Maybe passion fruit. this has risen to the top of some of my Favourite bubbly. Need to go back to NZ again to experience this first hand — a year ago
Weirdly sweet.. maybe I cooked it 😫 — a year ago
It went to sleep quickly but while it was alive it had some beautiful peppery notes that played will with cayenne crusted potatoes and a big thick ribeye — a year ago
