a salty old houseboat…kinda old and salty and musty but with a peppery and floral quality that persists. — 17 days ago

North Fork of Long Island Albariño 2019

So,so impressive- concentrated grapefruit pith and light lime fruits. Floral and minerally on the nose. Pitch perfect balance with high acidity. NBA playoffs accompaniment, shared by good neighbors. — 2 months ago

Mattebella Vineyards

Famiglia Red Merlot Blend

The old reliable, earthy and accesdible.
Full disclosure: I worked there for seven years. NV blend of usually two or three years of right bank clones of merlot, cab franc, and sometimes petit verdot.

Craggy Range

Te Muna Road Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Nice, fresh and vibrant Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand. Gooseberry (reminded me of growing up on the farm at home) and hints of subdued grapefruit. Beautiful light gold color, crystal clear. Not from Marlborough on the northern end of the South Island but Martinborough on the North Island. Very interesting region that grows all their grapes on a strip of 3-4 miles long and 1-2 miles wide raised tectonic plate of alluvial gravel. Pinot noir is king in this region, but this Sauvignon blanc was also very nice. — a month ago

Reserve North Fork Chardonnay 2018

Distinctive but not overpowering. Nice on its own or with food. Love it with a charcuterie plate! — 2 months ago
