Reserve Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, blueberries, violets, black currants, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, alcohol, peppercorn and coffee.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, chocolates, light vegetables, mocha, peppercorn, leather and earth.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is another great Napa Cabernet. Well balanced and a little subdued, yet still showing Napa Cabernet characteristics. Not too extracted, which is nice to see.

This is from a great vintage, but still needs a few more years to become its own, although delicious now. A good sipping to share with friends.

Teeth staining color, so not a good choice for a first date.

Good by itself or with food. Good right out of the bottle, but definitely better after a couple of hours of airtime.

Hello everyone, I hope everyone are having a good week? Tonight I have opened the 2016 Frog's Leap Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Estate Grown from Napa Valley. The blend is 91%Cabernet Sauvignon, 6%Cabernet Franc and 3% Merlot

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, vanilla, mint, violet and smokey oak.

On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, cedar, black olive, spice and earthy notes.

This wine is full bodied that is fresh with plush fruit with medium + acidity and medium + fine sandy tannins which moves into a long black fruit finish. Enjoy the rest of your week and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

No. 77 Napa Valley Reserve Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2010


Dark ruby (almost black) in color with a reddish rim.

Strong nose of baked cherries, black plums, red currants, light cedar, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, eucalyptus, dark chocolates, spices, black pepper, pencil lead, dirt and herbs.

Medium plus in body and smooth, with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, sweet strawberries, currants, wood, spices, light vanilla, tobacco, light alcohol, espresso, earth, pencil lead, coke and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty, and nicely aged, Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder in Napa Valley. Showing a great nose and a complex palate, with a nice mouthfeel.

Not a typical Napa Cabernet, and very unique for the region. A good quality wine with a pretty nose.

This 10 year old is still young and not showing its age much. Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years.

Needs 2 hours to open up properly, so be patient.

Tangy and good with food, too. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Great with the brie cheese.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Affinity Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Sex in a bottle. The good kind. Everyone has their own favorite California winery, but for me there’s no doubt. It’s Robert Craig. Deep purple with cherry red undertones in the glass. How about this nose? It starts with ripe red fruit up top. Cherries and raspberries and fresh strawberries oh my! Warm spices and créme de cassis follow that up. The barest hint of vanilla tops it all off.

I love the funk. I live for the funk, I die for the funk. But that’s not the water that Robert Craig swims in. Completely eschewing dirty funk, this is a profoundly clean and immediate wine. Full bodied but with none of the seemingly innate flabbiness of other Cabernet dominated blends. Pure sexy sleekness instead here.

A blend of 83% Cab Sauv, 11% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot made by Philippe Melka. Deep Ruby with purple hues, aromas of black and blue fruits with herb spice and earthy notes. On the palate blueberry, blackberry and plum flavors with cacao, leather and tobacco. Firm tight grippy tannins, well balanced integrated nicely with smoky oak, long finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy character. Too young, keep corked for a few years. — 3 days ago
