@Delectable Wine this the La Rochelle. Thanks!
50% maderization on the nose. Dusty old books. Leather. Spice. Roasted element. Palate not bad. Strawberry, light cherry, some herbals. Fruit is getting sweeter. Nice balance. A nice curiosity. Very fresh. — 16 days ago

Infini, moulin à vent 2018, domaine Bertrand
I bought this one from the winery along with 3 other cuvées (including the chard I shared a note about last week).
This moulin à vent comes from a small parcel which is undergoing a transition to organic culture. This is the only cuvée they put in oak barrels for 18 months. Only second wine barrels from a côtes du Rhône winery.
This makes for a very burgundyesque Beaujolais. The nose is made of an intense cherry note along with rose petals and violet. There is tiny touch of vanilla too but the oak is really subtle. The palate is made of a massive acid backbone that powers a very long finish. There is a bright cherry note blossoming all along, a good width and a lively, dynamic mouthfeel. Some very discreet oaky notes complement a rather fruity profile before some gentle tannins kick off in the rear creating a layer of complexity above the fruit. The finish is long and fruity with a tiny touch of oak that somehow brings another dimension with a tiny touch of bitterness. This is very good but very young too and I think my other 5 bottles will be left aside in the cellar for another 3 to 5 years. Great beaujo experience — a month ago
Dark ruby. Mineral-accented aromas of red and dark berries and potpourri are complemented by a licorice nuance that builds with air. Shows bright floral lift on the palate, which offers sappy black raspberry, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that turn sweeter on the back half. Finishes long and subtly tannic, with repeating floral and licorice notes. This is an almost delicate expression of both the appellation and the vintage. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2021)

Seductive, enticing nose if dark fruit, vibrant, slightly meaty & salty, mineral, with a touch of baking spice.
On the palate this is so juicy! Slightly edgy, with a rocky, granite character to the black fruit. Bright acidity and very fine, juicy yet grippy tannins and a nice tree reductive note towards the finish!
A brilliant wine, my highlight of thy e evening! — a month ago
