Loved this Malbec! Delicious, smooth, bold! — 4 years ago

Blind tasting night - Considered Bordeaux Varietals due to the Pyrazines, and I should have gone old world due to the tart fruit on the pallet.. however it was ripe, and I went Margaret River, Australia.. should have went with my gut. But, it was midnight so I'll blame it on fatigue, ha. 🙃
Great wine from a great vintage - fun fact: this estate is the only other estate to be edited into the 1855 Classification a year later, as a 5th growth, literally hand written into the list. — 8 years ago
A nice light, dry wine. Easy to drink and very enjoyable — 9 years ago
Krug is always most welcome, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This is edition 169. A bit more yeasty and slightly less acidic than previous versions, to my taste. But if you like the Krug style - which we do very much - it hits the spot per usual.
My wife used to work with Fritz Hatton, proprietor of Arietta wines and auctioneer for Zachys. Fritz always says to have a half bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge in case you need a “midnight snack”, and I have to agree with him! — 6 years ago

OPAQUE 2014 petit verdot Colina D’Oro Vineyard, San Antonio Winery. The color of coarse is midnight black with a purple reflection on the walls of the glass. The bouquet is CHOCOLATE!!!!!!! OMG... The initial palate has loads of dark fruit and berries, raspberries, and fig. The mid-palate brings on the chocolate and vanilla and graphite. Then comes the long finish with smoke and oak to a dry dry finish!!!!! Still one of my all time favorites from California!!! — 8 years ago
Very rich with flavor. More flavor then the regular red ménage a trois. Both are great! — 9 years ago
Cherry and strawberry. Long finish and very full bodied. Best PK yet. — 9 years ago
Blackberry aroma, inky opaque appearance, tastes of dark fruit including blackberries, light tannins and a jammy finish. Delicious! — 2 years ago
Glorious blast of dark, ripe berry notes,, med-weight low ABV, chewy balanced finish.,.round, fruit-juice driven sipper that deepens and gets more serious as it lingers in the glass. 60 % red, 40 % white wine combined and not co-fermented. Nice introduction to Hardy’s new project. Zoom concerts are amazing! — 5 years ago

Interesting depth of flavors without being too dry. Great with red meat. — 8 years ago
So good. Top three winery for me in NC. A lot of funk in the aroma. Maybe some Brett but doesn’t come through in the taste. — 8 years ago
Perfectly spicy deep red. Paired deliciously with Cypress G Midnight Moon hard goat cheese. — 9 years ago

Scored this on a closeout and rolled the dice: spectacular presentation - still inky dense full stuffing, brooding reminded me of higher end Meritage blends from Napa back when I could afford them. Just tons of fruit but all the pretty accents like vanilla & spice, cassis & cocoa, licorice & cigar box, kaleidoscope of fruit all packaged well, balanced, structured, regal w/persistent finish. Long life ahead — 5 days ago
