Canary Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Color of purple with ruby hue. Quite clear and nice legs. Nose of dark fruits, dried strawberry, aldehyde, oily and crayon, a bit smoky, and fragrance is refined. Taste follows the nose with addition of grapefruit sweetness, strawberry vanilla, zest, mineral, minty, simply quite tasty. Second sip shows some more zest and peppery. Good flavors. Aftertaste shows some more ripe grape and a bit too much bitterness. But still a good one. — 2 days ago

I don’t often spend this much on rose but this was delightful and well worth it. — 24 days ago

A beautiful Pinot Noir. Translucent ruby color, lots of red fruit on a medium bodied, dry palate. Just terrific! — a month ago

Bonnie Jean Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Color of different shades of purple, with blue and gray tone on the rim. Quite dark considering she is a Pinot Noir. Nose of nice dried strawberry, fragrant aldehyde, prune, a bit tobacco leaves. The nose keep coming. Taste follows the nose with addition of ample acidity and refined sweetness, dark fruits like cherry and plums, a tiny bit black pepper, ripe grapes, a bit oak, and refreshing zest. Aftertaste is long and clean. Packed with flavors. — 11 days ago

Guadalupe Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Color of light purple with a bit grey tone. Quite clear. Nose of beautiful dried strawberry, aldehyde, roasted pepper, a bit prune, a bit spice, and under the current strength of alcohol. Taste is refreshing, with hint of Coca-Cola, minty, memory of fresh berries, slightly sweet, clean and flavorful. Aftertaste shows some more zest and hint of tannins, drizzled with fresh green grapes. Medium long. Nicely done. — 2 months ago

Domaine Serene

Evenstad Reserve Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2017

The story of Domaine Serene harks back to Minnesota, where Grace met the late Ken Evenstad, and the couple’s partnership in life and business first began. 💕@domaineserene

With a faith in the terroir of Willamette Valley, Oregon, this pioneering couple purchased land in the Dundee Hills AVA, establishing Domaine Serene in 1989, crafting their first vintage in 1990.🇺🇸🍇

Since then, Domaine Serene has grown, expanded, and rightfully garnered critical acclaim for producing some of the finest expressions of Pinot Noir from this region. 👏👏👏👏👏 Due to their thoughtful dry-farming and sustainable practices in the vineyard, meticulous micro-cru vinification processes, pursuit of blending, judicious use of oak, and aging prior to release, a consumer may come to expect a unique, consistent experience with a glass of this beautiful wine.🍷 In our experience, it never disappoints as a special wine to be shared during the holidays or celebratory moments. 🎉

Here is the Domaine Serene, Evenstad Reserve, Willamette Valley, Vintage 2017, ABV 14.4%. It has a strong structure, and balance, backed by high acidity, medium tannins, high alcohol, and vibrant fruit aromas such as cherry, kirsch, and blackberry. It also offers complexity in aromas and flavors with not only red / black fruit, but also violet, licorice, clove, vanilla, cola, saddle leather, nutmeg, and forest floor notes. The finish lingers.👌👌👌👌

In 2015, the Evenstads made their dream a reality by purchasing Château de la Crée in Santenay, Burgundy, France, an estate that dates back to the 15th Century. 🇫🇷 Their story is inspiring and their wines are delicious. We hope to someday visit their estates in Willamette and Santenay.

Until then we will continue to enjoy their wines and remember their story, pioneering spirit, partnership, and pursuit of excellence in their craft. Cheers! ✨✨✨

See past notes (3-4 months ago) with a + half point improvement as the tertiary notes of soil are starting to overtake the cranberry.

McCrone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Our third and final bottle from an order that unfortunately felt the effects of extreme cold weather back In February. This was a bit more what I expected a 5+ vintage to be. . . Light, more ethereal, balanced flavors, and soft tannins. I still like the art on this bottle and would have this again. Just recommend not receiving a shipment with sub zero temperatures. — 2 months ago
