Fleurie Gamay 2012

Fully mature mouth-coating herbs and tomato. Lacks freshness of most bojo but somehow works with broad mid-palate. A treat, for sure. — 8 days ago

"Cuvée Corcelette" Morgon Gamay 2022

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours and alongside Boulard’s “Corcelette” from 2014. The 2022 “Cuvée Corcelette” from Foillard pours a deep garnet color with medium viscosity and moderate staining of the tears. On the nose the wine is developing with notes of wild strawberries, freshly cut roses, tarragon, licorice, blood orange, and a new bar of Irish Spring. It’s definitely a touch mousy but well within the acceptable range for me. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, fresh and so Foillard. Drink now through 2042. — a month ago

My evaluations of this One have been all over the place in the last three years. This bottle, drunk six years post harvesting was excellent. — 24 days ago

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2023

Pastille & pennies. It takes a true bad ass to make just one single wine vintage after vintage. Respect. — 7 days ago

Vieilles Vignes Corcelette Morgon Gamay 2014

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours and alongside Foillard’s “Corcelette” from 2022. The 2014 “Corcelette” from Daniel Boulard pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate stain of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of wild strawberry, pine forest, Juniper berries, forest floor, hot asphalt, sage, leather, and rounded off by the smell of an old, cracked bar of Irish Spring soap from a basement shower. On the palate the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose. The finishes long and gorgeous. Rustic but beautiful and a brutally honest wine. Wow. Drink now through 2034. — a month ago
