Nose has cooled lemon curd, light apple cider vinegar, cold pineapple, moist moss, oxidized green apple slice, damp clove and very wet grassy notes.
Palate has pineapple core, bruised green pears, faint lanolin, light honey notes, light under-ripe yellow peach and white waxy notes round out the finish.
Double decant with 12H rest. A Saint Aubin for the trending natural wine crowd without being over the top 'natural'. 92-93 Points.
Paired to a grilled slab of Steelhead Trout, perfection.
24H Update:
Nose has fresh green apple peel, warmed yellow apple slice and white waxy notes.
Palate has warm pear, slight honey and under-ripe pineapple.
Much improved; Score change 92>93. — 8 days ago
Have not had since 2019. Nose is brambly with a cherry melange. Very earthy. Some wood shavings. A bit aromatically closed for now. Palate is juicy, very concentrated and sappy with great purity. Really long but also seems backwards. But terrific fruit and intensity. Very very sappy. Needs a few more years but you can the low yields of 16 gave this wine density and tons of material.
After an hour this has softened up and is super juicy and the tannins have calmed down. 9.2 to 9.3. Lavieres is such good terroir. — 10 days ago
Lovely and fresh. Stone and lime with salty notes. Really clear and precise. Delicious. — a day ago
I drink a lot of White Rhone and that’s been one of my favorite things about the past 9+ years of Fass Selections. I didn’t before and now I realize that I have a passion for them. Nice to find a new wine category late in your wine drinking life one loves. Anyway this is beautiful. Nose is ripe yellow fruits, beeswax, gorgeous compactness and minerals. It’s really refined as well. Palate is ripe, unctuous and juicy but I’ll admit off the bat it’s showing it’s alcohol but it will integrate. It’s only 13% but that’s why you let white Rhone breathe. For the alcohol to integrate. Luscious and juicy. Deep but I’ll be back for when it’s integrated. It’s a solid 9.0 now but the finish, texture and depth suggest this will be wonderful in an hour.
9.0 to 9.2. Alcohol almost fully integrated in 10 minutes. Custardy now. Great length and terrific minerals. — 3 days ago
2019 Cote du Py By far the best Gamay Noir I have tasted in several years. Such a precise expression of Morgon. This aroma shows the perfect combination of deep and inviting cherry plum fruitiness along with the slightest brush pepperiness and subtle meaty/earthy hints. There is no funky Brett in this wine that I can find. Not squeaky clean commercial either. There is no mistaking the pedigree of this vineyard site as well as the deft hand of this legendary producer. The texture is pure pleasure, almost nil tannins (The way I like it), and major length. Woody, brushy (rotundones) are combined with perfectly ripe tree fruit and alluring minerality . For anyone confused about the distinction between Burgundy and Beaujolais this should stand as a model example. Bravo bravo bravo!!! — 23 days ago
From the hermit on the hill himself; this is a luscious, rich, full, pungent even, white wine. Takes hours and hours to stabilize into a highly perfumed nose full of white flowers, some jasmine, and white mushroom. The pallet is unorthodox for any white wine standards: umami, brioche, over ripe stone fruit, and root vegetable notes: jicama, Jerusalem artichoke. Full bodied, high alcohol, medium acidity, high flavor intensity and a long finish. Incredible wine. — 2 days ago
This wine is just like Jean-Jacques Morel's silhouette, which is very French and a little unkept. Unmanicured. This is not traditional Bourgogne Blanc of crisp acid and peppered oak. This is Chardonnay in ripe and wild form. Free spirited and behind a nondescript label, there’s an aspect of ironic cool and I could see natural wine shops selling this for $50+ if only they knew Jean-Jacques ever existed.
Glowing unfiltered hay. Aromas of lemon curd and fresh bright pineapple with a hint of vanilla. There's VA but it works. Salty sour flavors of apricots and peaches with a persistent finish. — 9 days ago
Encore superbe dans la version 2019 cette fois, du fruit rouge à revendre, bouche assez large et puissante mais avec une belle texture assez dense, bel équilibre par contre, a besoin de temps bien sur mais un autre sérieux CdN Villages. 91
Very nice once again in the 2019 version this time, red fruit, ripe raspberries in particular, palate is large, deep, dense and got some power, still good balance, a serious CdN Villages. — 12 days ago

Unique. Medium gold color. Initially tastes oxidized but after 20 minutes it opens up nicely. Honey, mango, stone fruit, and pineapple. Medium plus depth with decent acid. Not something I would have frequently but a very nice change of pace. — 8 days ago
