Definitely not white wine. Savory and structured Roditis with skin contact. Bergamot, quince, dried orange peel, tomato vine, cashews, hazelnuts, tannin. Organic. Dare I say this is a “classic” orange wine? Pair this with spanakopita when you’re feeling funky. — 4 years ago

Sharp, mealy bouquet. A little off aromatic for the typical Moschofilero. Although, strong scent of pineapple cores.

Organic, no additives, and the oldest importer of the varietal to the states. Super pineappley, bracing acidity, feels very old world authentic. Like I’m in Greece and this is the one they would serve at the table overlooking the teal expanse of ocean.

Slight licorice that balances out the sweetness.

Given the opening action I expected a jammy heavy wine. Could not have been more wrong. Cool, sleek, and elegant. Full of black cherry, anise, and roasted meat flavored, with a pretty floral note just before the finish. Pure delight. Not a surprise considering it was made by Cathy Corison. Dark opaque ruby in appearance. Bold bouquet of intense sage, spearmint, and pine bark. Dried plum, herbs, and green peppercorns on the palate. Medium plus bodied, dry. Alcohol medium plus. Tannins are soft. This Coonawarra Cab is unique, quite the departure from the over-oaked, fruit dominant Cali experience. With the long finish, I'm going to give this a nod up to 94 points. This pairs perfectly with hard cheeses.

A 2012 out of a magnum and decanted. Nice dark red colour and an enticing brambly plum bouquet that was echoed on the palate. Very pleasant with balanced acidity that worked well with the homemade gourmet pizza it accompanied. I would be very happy to serve at an informal large gathering as it is very quaffable. — 11 years ago
