Finally talked this dude into drinking.
I don't know, maybe I'm getting old but aged Riojas are starting to taste/feel weighty to me. It's very good. Muddled fruits, resolved tannins, nice and round, leather notes. But somewhat boring. Probably my mood.

Salmon color with copper reflexes. Nose of grapefruit, and Mandarin peel, lemon juice, pink flowers, and petrichor. Faint Aperol on the back. Palate is explosive but not effusive. More grapefruit oil, lemon pith, garrigue, waves of saline minerality and a bright acidity that makes it go on and on. Pretty serious argument on why it deserves its reputation is the best rosé in the world  — 4 days ago
Light medium caramel core , light copper rim. Quite mature , with spiced creme brûlée , saffron , burnt sugar , some crystallised orange peel , desiccated coconut . Slightly monochrome . On the palate this is quite light , with quite high acidity and a burnt caramel bitterness . Medium sweetness only , quite refreshing acidity . Slightly bitter orange caramel finish . Dark ruby in color.
Fruity nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries and chocolates notes.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with black currants, blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, tobacco leaf, herbs, caramel and black pepper.
Medium length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This young Grenache blend from California is drinking very nicely now. Nicely balanced and elegant. Complex and easy drinking.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with some airtime.
I used to love this wine years ago and haven't tried it in 5 years. It's not that exciting to me anymore, but still good.
A nice sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a burger.
A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Petite Sirah. Aged for 10 months in (30% new) French Oak barrels.
