8.9

i'm going to stick with my note from the 2020: too generic, this vintage had a very firm tannic grip but same aromatic & flavor profiles — 6 days ago

Château Climens

Barsac 1er Cru Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2009

Classic Barsac profile, incredibly drinkable. Climens is always a treat but 2009 was a really special year. Pineapples, honey, elderflower — 3 days ago

Taittinger

Comtes de Champagne Grand Crus Brut Blanc de Blancs 2006

Has a little brown toast note that is distinctive. Overall very nice and worthy of a graduation celebration. — 15 days ago

Champalou

Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2013

Well balanced - not too sweet not to dry. Honey notes with a semi-full feel. — 9 days ago

Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2004

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2004 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart mixed fruit: Blackberries, black cherry, dill, olives, leather, toasted coconut, some vanilla, dried green herbs and fine warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is in a very lovely place. Drink now through 2044. — 13 days ago

Young but already enjoyable

Domaine Tempier

Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2014

2014 - Vintage Domaine Tempier “La Tourtine” 80%-Mourvedre 10%-Grenache 10%-Cinsault ( no Carignan in this wine) red rim mediums red color, a lot of other than fruit aromas earth, mushroom, sage, undergrowth, black fruit beautifully presented with medium tannins softening nicely. This is out of a magnum ( good time to start drinking but definitely some time left) they have different names on the label signifying different blends this is the La Tourtine but they also have “La Migoua” and just a Bandol with no designation label says 11%-14% ( I bet on the 14%) — 22 days ago

Château Suduiraut

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2001

Vintage 2001 | This is such a treat, honeyed nectar, which I poured at a farewell of my colleagues, and even people who drink wine in a irregular base like this. — 5 days ago

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2005

05 drinking superbly! Along with 2007, this is one of the best drinking vintages right now. (In this time period) — a day ago

Clos de la Coulée de Serrant Savennières Chenin Blanc 2011

Opened prior to dinner and enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2011 pours a bright gold color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of ripe and tart orchard fruit: bruised Golden Delicious apple, lemon drop, marmalade, white flowers, a whiff of clove, Marcona almonds, lanolin and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is wooly. Weeeeeee!!! A special bottle that’s drinking so well at the moment. Drink now with patience through 2036. — a month ago
