Gallo Family Vineyards

Château Calon-Ségur

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

The community of Saint-Estèphe has it roots in the Gallo-Roman origins of this chateau. A blend of 82% Cab Sauv, 16% Merlot & 2% Petit Verdot. Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak deep purple with aromas of black fruit, floral and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry, tobacco and cedar. Fine ripe grippy tannins, a powerhouse, ending elegant with fruit & spice. Will age well. — 3 years ago

Yikes on #5! At that price point I would have expected better.

@Carl Fischer i think it was off. It was a non-labeled bottle from the estate. I've had the 2012 and this was nothing like it

While I’m sure disappointing for you, I’m pretty glad to hear that!

Gallo Family Vineyards

Barrelli Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Color of deep garnet with no age discoloration around the edges, nose fragrant of red fruit, still good structure in the body, full and rich mouthfeel Of plums and cherry with long strong finish. Tons on sediment on the bottle shoulders on the last half glass. — 4 years ago

Gallo Family Vineyards

Frei Ranch Vineyard Zinfandel 2008

Still showed very nice. Good fruit, complex, balanced. Sorry for the staged rib photo (FYI...my ribs were 7.8...not my best effort) — 4 years ago

Turley

Bedrock Vineyard Zinfandel 2014

Zin flight. Venge was fave actually. Venge, turley bedrock, gallo, and chase were all pretty similar stylistically and relatively restrained than the other 2 (hunnicutt and b cellars) Hunnicutt was very ripe, giant nose, a little hot, but tons of flavor. It needs air probably. The b cellars was softer than the rest with a little vanilla. — 5 years ago

That looks like fun.

"Le Souvenir" Sierra Madre Vineyard Chardonnay 2014

Still our favorite Santa Barbara County Chardonnay. Hope the recent vineyard sale to a Gallo subsidiary won’t be s major impact to Paul or other producers buying this fruit. — 4 years ago

Isn’t it though?! I suggest buying several and blowing through your stash much too quickly.
