St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

From magnum. Nicely moderated Saint Emilion. Floral on the nose, violets. This has sweetish fruit and a sappy, savory finish, but manages to stay soft and harmonious, never crossing the line to heavy or cumbersome. Drinking fairly well, even from magnum. I like the restraint here. I could drink this quite often, not something I can say for many BDX. Very pretty. — 8 days ago

a fatter style. Tastes as if there’s a little skin contact. Hazy. Deeply colored corn-oolong tea. Textural. Medium bodied. Perrsimmon. Fermented lime. Hay. — a month ago

Suck a Rock Red Rhône Blend 2018

Having made my way through the line of Bocks, Suck a Rock is probably my favorite - it’s uncomplicated and balanced - dark berries and minerals.

Raspberry, blackberry, violets, chalk dust.

Clean and focused.

San Andreas Fault Pinot Noir 2017

Slight berry notes at inception but then it settles into this elegance and structured Pinot. Easy to drink. Just so smooth. — a month ago

Poggio Le Volpi

Edizione Limitata Roma Red Blend 2016

This is an extremely dark wine, inky black, and it smells of black plums, blackberries and black cherries. The palate shows a terrific display of said fruit with a savory blanket of spice and licorice thrown over it. The tannins are a bit tame, but that fault does make for an extremely sippable wine. It will pair nicely with pork or tomato-based dishes. — 5 days ago
