Forgotten bottle at my in laws. What a good surprise! Didn't know I had left it there 🤷🏻♂️.
This is again a very biaised review as this comes from a vineyard located 10 miles away from where I grew up. A blend of negrette and syrah.
There is a strong violet, blackberry, irony, pepper nose. Very inviting. The palate is very much defined by its acid backbone and its vibrant blackberry and cherry note. There is a huge tannins wall in the middle here, drying up everything in its wake but making way to a fruity, peppery finish with a fruity twist. Huge wine for less than 10 euros — 18 days ago
Uncle Don really likes it. Drank at Pigeons. — a month ago
Medium to full crimson in colour. I love GSM - or as this wine is SGM with Shiraz predominant. Spicy Tarry red berry aromas. All the varieties blend well here but overall it is very Barossa. John Duval, the winemaker, was once Penfolds Chief Winemaker from 1986 to 2002. There have only been 4 Penfolds Grange winemakers - Max Schubert (creator in 1951), Don Ditter, John Duval and now Peter Gago the current Chief Winemaker since 2002. A wine that goes well with food or has the substance to do equally well on its own. — a month ago
Founded by Don Rafael López de Heredia y Landeta, a student in the art of wine making. Blend of 65% Tempranillo, 25% Garnacho, 10% Mazuelo and Graciano, aromas of sweet berry fruits and spice notes. On the palate cherry and ripe strawberry flavors with citrus notes, cinnamon spice. Fine smooth tannins, long finish, well balanced, ending with fruit and earthy tones. Nice value. — 5 days ago
One of the most ambitious new entrants to the Napa luxury wine scene sits high up on Atlas Peak. In true “modern Napa” form, Seven Apart @sevenapart is a spare-no-expense project that is the work of financier Don Dady and NFL star Jason Kyle. Andy Erickson of @faviawines is their inaugural winemaker. Deep black cherry and cassis and tobacco morph into licorice and dried flowers and dried herbs on the journey across the palate. Sumptuous and polished, but with excellent acidity and an admirably restrained 14.1% alcohol. The bottle, as you’d expect from such a venture, is offensively heavy, but the wine is good. This is the remains of a press sample. — a month ago
N: Blue/Black fruits. Dirt, Sun baked soil,
Graphite, dark , dark, like pomegranate molasses.
P: Dark Blue/red/black fruit, nice texture. Grippy tannins, eased w pizza.
It belies it’s 14,1°. Not for fruit bomb seekers. This is scrunchy brambly black goodness.

Oh this is nice!!!!! Our Anniversary Dinner Wine for #31. This wine has a lot to offer….blackberry, black currant, blueberry, violet, toast, smoke, forest floor, and perhaps a bit of strawberry. The tannins are super smooth. Went great with the Chateaubriand!!! — 2 months ago
Bellísimo! Eucalyptus gave way to lavender and cocoa. Tightly wound cherry with long tannic finish. Had with frito misto, gnocchi pomodoro, margherita pizza and herb rack of lamb at Casa di Don Alfonso. First indoor meal in >1 year. Was like riding a bike. — 2 months ago
