Beautiful nose, rich dark fruit and nicely balanced tannins, waiting to see Andrew's more eloquent prose and description! — 4 days ago

Clos du Ferré Vieilles Vignes Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie 2019

Superb nose of citrus (lemon, yuzu, even grapefruit) and a bit chalk. This is very inviting! The palate is very well made, with a wonderful fruity note all along, an almost sweet mouthfeel, and a long finish with that citrusy note which lasts a long while. It paired very well with a plate of pasta alla vongole and with some well aged French cheeses. — 11 days ago

When we are on the bassin d'arcachon, this is a go to meal. I should have added that we picked the vongole ourselves, knee-deep in the mud 😂 those little pleasures...

Grands Epenots Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1999

Violets, blackberry, forest floor, still some grippy tannin. This is old school and fairly extracted, but drinking well 👍 — 19 days ago

Deep and simultaneously light, took about an hour open to really shine. What a treat. — 24 days ago

Canon Morgon Gamay

Complex Beaujolais, a little bit (delightfully) bitter, great for slow sipping. Best chilled for 15 and left to open up. — 6 days ago

This was a very well-balanced but subtle chardonnay. Less acidic than the Chablis I have been drinking. — a month ago

Real Sleeper - figured this was going to be tired & over the hill, but it was glorious! Needed 90 minutes to really open up but then it unfurled with pure black & blue fruits interspersed w/tar, leather, minerals, florals, meat & spice all wrapped in finely grained tannins wrapped in velvet. This was a product of the insanely hot 03 vintage, but this is an absolute complete wine - a gem. — 19 days ago

Mémoire de Vignes Champagne Pinot Noir 2014

Pop and pour, but notes from 2 hrs open. This taste comes from the last sip in the btl...what a hit tonight. On the nose: ripe canteloupe, salt, soft savory herbs, amazing intensity...my wife offered to give me what was left in my glass, but said she'd take it if I didn't want it... Fantastic acidity, but melon, melon rind, perfect density. Better than the '12 or '13? Reminds me a touch of the '11, which was more savory. Yum. — 13 days ago
