Vendanges Sélectionnées Volnay Pinot Noir

‘17 In the zone! Such delicate winemaking. Not overly extracted but still has some depth and power. I forgot how much I enjoy Lefarge. Beautiful. — 10 days ago

Clos Saint Michel

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2019

Mousset family has managed Clos Saint Michel for more than 6 decades, in Southern Rhône they have been active in wine for Much longer. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, herb and spicy notes, blend of 40% Grenache and 30% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, all aged in older barrels. On the palate flavors of black cherry and ripe blackberry with cigar box and black pepper spice. Big firm tannins, nicely integrated, good balanced, long finish with solid ending. — 17 days ago

La Moynerie Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Very impressive at this pricepoint. Proper Sancerre, ie mineral and linear but with nice balance of zesty just ripe tropical fruit. V warm vintages of late have destroyed linearity in some Sancerres for me but this was bang on. Strong buy. — 18 days ago

Absolutely incredible. Pears and apples, stone and earth. Finishes with a deep buttery ending. Just…wow. — 12 days ago

Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir Chardonnay

Spectacular. Still tightly coiled but perfect balance of oak, lemon and steely mineral. Finishes with a yeasty twist that balances the vibrant citrus and slate. Already drinking well but will improve from here. — 19 days ago

Le Temps est Venu Côtes du Rhône Grenache 2020

A solid Côte-du-Rhône, in terms of quality/price/pleasure ratio. Dark garnet-violin dress. Complete nose, intense black fruits, menthol, garrigue, mineral notes promising a beautiful relief. In the mouth it is very balanced, supple, fruity, peppery (syrah), licorice and spicy nuances with fruit and minerality. Superb for its price!

Saint-Joseph Le Passage Syrah 2018

I put my fork down halfway through dinner and logged into my local shop’s website so I could buy the last two bottles they had. Beautiful wine. On the nose and attack it’s like where’s the beef? Then it gets into your mouth and it’s all Burgundian fresh, feminine, incense, white pepper and perfume. Great syrah. — 4 days ago
