2017. Nice citrus, with good acidity — 2 months ago
2007 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately and throughout 1.5 hours. Medium/medium-heavy body. Initially filled with Chambord and sweaty saddle flavors and aromas. Picked up some copper/aluminum flavors along with a distinct, pushy zinc finish after that 1.5 hours. Seems to have enough personality to go steady for another 5-6 years without a noticeable drop-off. 11.12.23. — a month ago
Blend of 50% Malbec, 24% Merlot, 11% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby color with aromas of ripe berry fruits floral and spicy herbs. On the palate flavors of blackberry and juicy plum fruit with spicy herb, cacao and toasty oak. Fine soft tannins, well balanced, good acidity, long finish, almost creamy, ending with fruit & oak. Nice value!

This has really changed or at least this bottle. The acidity has perked up significantly. Very tight on opening, needing about 30-60 minutes of air. Lemon zest, oyster shell and minerals. Beautifully composed, pairing so well with a diverse array of food (tonight was fusilli with clams, Serrano, pecorino, garlic and roasted cherry tomatoes). It’s amazing how this wine went from low acidity and almost flabby to tight with punchy acidity. I have one bottle left that I will likely drink this coming year. — 12 days ago
2023/10 with pan-roasted wagyu, etc. in a great place - open on the nose, with woodsy, incense-like tertiary aromas blending with red berries and flowers. On the palate, good acidity and subtle tannin provide structure, with the fruit freshening and fleshing out with air. — 2 months ago
