Got this at Schumers as a substitute when I was looking for the Romane HCdN, same year….this is down the fairway for J, has that refinement/elegance, strong melon/pear on the nose - but not bold enough for me, though worked well with Peruvian spiced chicken — 9 months ago
Flash tasting; no formal notes. The 2020 Clos de Vougeot is deeper ruby than the 1er CdlP’s and even exhibits some light staining. Red fruited with cherry and strawberry. Some lavish use of oak. Hefty structure. Painfully young. Powerful-ish and needs time. This will be a little more fun to drink after 2030. — 9 months ago

Flash tasting; no formal notes. The 2019 “Clos de la Perrière” is a similar, pretty ruby with bolder strawberry and cherry than the 2018 displays. The structure is quite a bit bigger as well with grippy tannin and good acid. Medium finish. Better after 2029. — 9 months ago

GL Bertagna tasting 10/17/17. Tropical fruits pineapple on nose though not overblown due to acids. Nice body and balance with fruity finish with some acids. Well but$70! — 7 years ago
