Domaine Aux Moines

Sylvain Cathiard

Aux Murgers Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

One of the more accessible and expressive 05’s I’ve had in a while, Cathiard’s Vosne-esque Aux Murgers is open and giving wafting perfumed and spice laced dark berry fruit with violets, black tea and damp earth. The palate is pure silk, elegant and seductive, perhaps even belying the burly vintage typicity, with terrific persistence, balanced acids and soft tannins. An 05 that is finally ready to go! Beautiful wine. — 10 days ago

Domaine de Montille

Aux Thorey Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Medium dark rubi robe, nose of crushed flowers, asian spices and a hint of dark cherries. Very round and velvety in the mouth, good length, a fine modern pinot that pleases those who prefer a more classical style as well. — 2 months ago

Aux Malconsorts Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

We had at Cyril Lignac’s restaurant in Paris for father’s day.
Tell tale Vosne aux Malconsorts, very accessible now but with very many years ahead of it. We are enthusiastic about it !

Aux Beaux Bruns Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Wow, a collideascope on day two of purple candy and its wrapper’s aroma. Stone finish has some authority. — a month ago

Clos du Cellier Aux Moines Givry 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2021

Light bodied without being a pushover. Bright fruit, almost a bit green like unripened strawberries with a constant bitter note throughout - like unsweetened cacao nibs — 3 months ago

Domaine Coillot

La Charme aux Prêtres Marsannay Pinot Noir 2021

Established in the village of Marsannay in the 1960's by Bernard Coillot, father of owner Christophe Coillot. Deep Ruby red color with aromas of berry fruit and spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of fig, mushroom and spice. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy mineral character. Very Nice! — a month ago

Domaine Santa Duc

Aux Lieux-Dits Gigondas Red Rhone Blend 2019

Dark red fruit, oxidative notes, stewed fruit, plum, pencil lead, cola, molasses, and ripe black fruit. Medium plus body, high tannins, high alcohol, high acid, and long finish. Drink now with all the tertiary stuff going on, which surprises me given the vintage is only 5 years old. — a month ago
