Concha y Toro

Reserva Casillero del Diablo Carménère 2016

Best for the price! We bought this wine over and over again while it was available at our local Costco. It came with a white that was pretty good too. — 3 years ago

Bodegas y Viñedos Maurodos

Viña San Román Toro Tempranillo 2010

Nose of mushroom and compost, leather, tar, vanilla and blackberry pie. Spicy on the tongue, with almost bitter cherry and blueberry skin. Dark chocolate and mocha strike on the mid palate with minerality to finish. Plush yet elegant. Drank side by side with ‘09 - prefer the ‘10. Alcohol stays in balance on this vintage, subtle oak notes show to finish. Drink now with a splash decant. — 9 days ago

Don Melchor Puente Alto Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

AMAZING! This is well above my price range, but was a wise choice for a splurge bottle. Deep structure, blackberry, vanilla and leather. This is a super-premium cab and worth the C note... — a month ago

Block Las Terrazas Pirque Viejo Vineyard Terrunyo Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

We had the 2009 Vintage on 8/30-31/20. The bouquet was flowery and even perfume. The palate tastes of blackberry, plum and minerality. The tannins were all smoothed out. A fruit forward, New World wine. Different from a California Cab. Very good. — 22 days ago

Bodegas y Viñedos Vega Sicilia

Pintia Toro Tempranillo 2013

Deep ruby with opaque center and a dull platinum rim, medium viscosity. On the nose, it has frank and expressive blackberry, cassis and ripe cherry aromas followed by gentle spice and oak overtones. This just smells elegant. On the palate, it turns into a delight with a plushy broad mouthfeel and firm yet silky tannins. Confirmed the aromas and got vanilla and spices in the long and floral finish. Dry wine, medium acidity, medium tannins, medium plus body and medium plus alcohol. Very well integrated with a noticeable structure. Decanted for 3 hours. Probably will be hard to guess Tempranillo in a blind tasting...first time trying a Vega Sicilia wine and I can see why their wines are so sought after! A treat any day really, but even better on a smoky Seattle day. — 10 days ago
