Saw this for $50 with some nice age and wanted to try it. Opened a couple hours before dinner but no decant. Could have used the decant in general, lots of yeasty sediment. Really quite delicious. Restrained, earthy, slightly bitter in a good way. Excellent mouthfeel. Good fruit balanced by good acid and just enough tannin. — a month ago

Badia a Coltibuono, or "The Abbey of good harvest," lies in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, between Florence and Siena. The Abbey is approximately 2000 years old. Quite a healthy ruby garnet core and thin garnet rim . Quite herbal and funky on the nose at first , then with spiced cherry, pomegranate, leather and dried sage. On the palate this has sweet red fruits , pomegranate and high acidity , fine tannins and a decent dried herb tinged finish . This is drinking well now and will continue to do so over the next 5 years — a month ago
