Iconic Provence producer. Blend of multiple varieties (Grenache 45%, Mourvèdre 30%, Cinsaut 5% and other red and white varieties such as Syrah, Castet, Carignan, Manosquin and Muscat) from old vineyards in Montaiguet, south of Aix en Provence. This unique blend is fresh berry cobbler in a glass. Warm strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry flavors burst forth but with nothing that tastes artificial. There is definitely some depth to this wine, but without the heaviness that sometimes results. I love that these three grapes usually reserved for blending with more prominent Rhône varietals have been blended together for once. Blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 14% Syrah and 1% Cinsaut, deep Ruby with aromas of red/black fruits with notes of floral and herbs. On the palate flavors of blackberry, raspberry and figs with licorice and smoky herb spice. Fine tannins, nice texture, long finish ending with fruit and smoky mineral spice character.
