Château Laville Haut Brion

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend

65%CS, 20%M & 15%CF. A lot of oak, smoke, incense, very floral and earthy. Red and blackfruit (blackberries, blackcurrant), some green notes also. Very dark red with firm structure, needs time. Second day better integrated. 91+ — 11 days ago

Le Clarence de Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Very special vintage second growth Boudreaux with captivating nose of red rose petals, so apparent I can feel them! Pallet is beautiful: exquisitely balanced, full, lengthy finish, crowd pleaser. — 3 months ago

I must say- as bad as our Haut Brion experience was this was just the opposite. Excellent tasting, tour, atmosphere and of course the wine — 3 years ago

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 1966

Another great btl of this wine showing the classic La Mission nose. A wine that I have had the pleasure of drinking more than 7 cases over the last 15 yrs. The wine has barely budged & has been fully mature & holding at its prime since I opened my 1st btl. Showing red & black fruits, cedar, leather, tar, smoke, licorice, balsamic & graphite are just some of the notes. A wine that you will still taste & think of after you finish the btl. — 4 days ago

Château Branaire (Duluc-Ducru)

St. Julien- Beychevelle Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

The 2nd best wine I’ve ever had!!

I originally thought I over paid @ £140, and probably did versus the market, but it was so worth it.

Very similar to Chateau Haut Brion. 45+ minute decant. Nose was balanced between French terroir and deep cherry fruit. Very rustic. Wine was complex with awesome texture. Deep fruit but coated the palate and was very gentle. Long finish capped it off.

Truly amazing!!!

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion

Le Blason de Larrivet-Haut-Brion Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Opened the 2009 vintage in May 2020. Definitely showing it’s age. Deep purple with a little orange (my wife says brown) around the rim. Regardless it ages nicely.
Smell: leather, old wood (not oak just like an old barn) earth, has a bit of a mineral tinge.
Taste: dark to black fruit. Plum. Earth notes as well. Truffle. Bold and tannic. Highish acid. Dry.

Overall very classic right bank. Very good wine but too bold to drink more than a bottle. Will blow out the pallet for the next flavor. Eat something hardy. Steak or game. Duck might be nice. Save it for the last bottle of the night or the only bottle.

Save it for your friends don’t waste it on the in-laws.
