Releases an incredible perfume of flowers, berries, pastels, potpourri, lead pencil, and graphite (w a hint of sautéed wild mushrooms on day 2) ~ cherry, blueberry, and blackberry flavors gain richness in the glass leading to a pain grillé and cocoa puff finish!

Will easily develop over the next 5-10 years w over a decade of plateau following BUT delivers plenty of enjoyment now as well

Pessac-Léognan Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2015

Enjoying some White Bordeaux lately. Previous notes from 10 July, a few months ago still apply. A whiff of passion fruit on this occasion. A creamy textural palate with a touch of pineapple juice on the 2nd night Barbara thought. Back Story: Andre Lurton who bought this property in 1965 is an aficionado of Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon is very much in the minority in this blend. Usually 85/15. Great match with fresh prawns. Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

From what can best be described as a bottle that was clearly not in great condition... 6cm ullage, faded light-kissed label, shrunken loose cork but the sludge around it at the top kept a good seal. Opened and let sit for 2 hours in the bottle, then decanted and left in decanter for 60 min. Dark amber tawny, opaque with some age showing in the rims. Killer old Bordeaux nose with notes of black cherry, tobacco leaf, cigar ash, old cedar wood and gravel stone. Silky in the mouth. Luscious. Lasting finish. This was a bottle that was part of a larger auction lot I bought a few years back and I knew there were risks with this particular bottle. Thus its amazing how what clearly wasn’t the best stored bottle can tonight still deliver a most memorable experience. — 23 days ago

👍 Wife and I have been on some wonderful wine tours (paid in a small group of 12) through Tuscany and Piedmont on one trip and Sicily on another trip. Memorable trips. COVID has destroyed his business for the time being unfortunately.

Graves Blanc White Bordeaux Blend 2015

Mid Lemon to pale gold in colour. Oak maturation in the background but is there discreetly with a vanilla note amongst the citrus aromas. Also an oxidative note. The palate is lemon and lime with plenty of citric acid nicely balanced by the oak. On the 2nd night notes of Quince and mandarin - quite supple on the palate. — 19 days ago
