Bright, crisp and refreshing but also quite a lot going on here. Very nice citrus; ginger, peach, a bit of pineapple, hint of vanilla, white pepper. Long finish. Great with food. — 9 months ago
MAGNUM! This is an unique blend of all the permitted grapes in Chateauneuf (red and white), named after Rudi’s grandfather, that plays well above its humble Vin de Pays du Gard, complex, rich, structured, needs 5+ more years, great wine!!
(Disclosure — Rudi is a friend through my brother, who imports his wines, but the front label shows the 12th Century chateau on the Rhône across from Chateauneuf, just south of the Lirac appellation!!) — 6 months ago
Nice blend for the price.
Barrel-fermented and aged in mostly older oak, the 2018 Lirac Blanc Comtesse Madeleine is a blend of 40% Marsanne, 35% Clairette, 20% Grenache Blanc, and 5% Picpoul.
An 88-acre estate, Château de Montfaucon sits just across the Rhône River from the esteemed vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is owned and operated by Rodolphe de Pins, a UC Davis graduate and former member of the winemaking staff at Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe. — 2 years ago

Medium-dark purple, rich dark fruits, terrific CdR, balanced, medium-long finish, a lot of this best juice in this wine now goes into the Montfaucon Lirac (not Baron Louis), at the early stage of hitting its maturity. — 8 days ago
