Château De Chamirey

Château de Chamirey

Mercurey Chardonnay 2015

2015 vintage. Many Côte de Beaune wines from the famous appellations like Meursault are out of reach for many winelovers, but thankfully there is terrific stuff to be found in less prestigious parts of Burgundy and Château de Chamirey is a safe bet. This "village" Mercurey comes from 6 different plots with predominantly limestone and clay soils. Malolactic and alcoholic fermentations in barrel. Ageing in lightly toasted barriques (15% new). Bright yellow fruit and flowers. In the mouth it displays the richness of the 2015 vintage, but with impeccable balance and very good length. The oak is perfectly integrated and it has a certain complexity and very good length. Very good value as it outperforms many a Meursault at half the price. Kudos to the Devillard family. Highly recommended. — a month ago

Château de Chamirey

Les Ruelles Mercurey 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Aromas of smoked minerals, black cherries, raspberries, leather, tobacco, and earth. Unfolds over time to reveal roses. Beautiful brick red color. Strong black cherries on the palatte. Nice, albeit not spellbinding finish. — 7 months ago

Domaine de la Garenne

Pouilly Fuissé Chardonnay

2015 vintage. Bottled and distributed by the Devillard family (Domaine des Perdrix and Château de Chamirey). Attractive nose with white peach and flowers. In the mouth bright ripe peach fruit, fresh acidity and very good length. Precise and energetic. Very nice value too. Highly recommended. — a month ago

En Sazenay Mercurey 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

2015 vintage. Be patient and you will be rewarded. It took a few hours before this wine started to shine. Cherries, strawberries, flowers. Medium-bodied with bright juicy red fruit and a serious structure. Might need a few more years to release its full potential. Good value for Burgundy. — 4 months ago

Château de Chamirey

Clos des Ruelles Monopole Mercurey 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2018

Weak for a #premiercru #burgundy not bad but not great. Fruity and light complexity #pinotnoir aromas of creaminess and malolactic conversion on the nose. Some good red fruits like red cherry and red berries on the palate but it is really two dimensional and lacking a lot of complexity and depth. Alcohol at 14% also seems out of whack. — 10 months ago
