Calvados nose, needs some time for all flavors to come into the mouth. White Chocolate yes, truffles no 😁 — 6 months ago
Ottimo! 22 anni in gran forma! — 8 months ago
Deep Ruby with pronounced aromas of ripe dark berry fruits and earthy forest floor notes, from a 3.7-acre plot, the estate’s highest-elevation vines (1,475 feet). On the palate flavors of black cherry and plum with cacao, cedar, espresso and pepper spice. Fine tannins, great balance, complex long finish ending with earthy herbs, fruit and oaky notes. Nice! Small production, less than 700 cases made! — 2 months ago
Extra point for value. If you love earthy flavors and tannins this is for you. Quite tight on opening - took a couple of hours of slow ox to be approachable. Then - nose of forest floor and anise. Palate was of dense rhubarb/dark cherry with dried autumn leaves and a hint of pine needles and bark and a lingering but refreshing mineral finish that was surprisingly mouthwatering sweet at the very end. I’m glad I have a few more bottles to save for when I want to take another flavor journey. — 8 months ago

Delectable Wine

Sweet spices, roses and dusty stone give way to rubbed sage and rosemary as the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino slowly evolves in the glass. This is pure elegance, silky-smooth and supple with a mineral tinge that adds a lovely depth to its black cherry fruit as brisk acidity adds a lovely tension. Saline minerals cascade throughout as a tinge of orange mingles with gritty tannins, and liquid stone notes linger through the long and staining finale. (Eric Guido, Vinous, December 2023)
