Probably opened this Brunello 2010 vintage late but after resting open for an hour in the bottle and into the glass for moments only, the wine softened to a velvety, exquisite smoothness on the palate with a perfect balance…just the right amount of tannins and acidity. Close to spectacular…elegantly drinkable, nothing quite comparable to the full-flavored yet medium bodied Brunello. Other reviewers have more impressionable palates but no single distinct flavor impressions for me other than the deep red berry. No nut nor earthiness yada yada (how does anyone taste a nut, tree bark or dirt in fine wine?). Etc. etc…simply a full flavor but not “big” for the sake of it. An exquisite wine…a rare accomplishment. Purchased in Cortona, Italy. — 9 days ago
