A Zinfandel for Cabernet Sauvignon lovers. Big and bold with oak, leather, cherry, and earthy notes. — 2 days ago
This is about as good as Carignane gets. I would happily put this up against a great Carignane-centric Priorat. Gorgeous nose has deep, pure, red berry fruit, wet river stones, and a zesty dusting of spice. Just beautiful balance in the mouth. Rich fruit with no jammy excess, subtle barrel scents, subtle stony notes. Great acids. And for Carignane, with is not known for its length, it has a surprisingly lengthy, juicy finish. Very impressive. — a month ago
Another great Ridge. There is a bit of v/a - brettanomyces on the nose but the palate is solid. 71% Zinfandel, 19% Carignane, 7% Petite Syrah, 2% Mataro & 1% Alicante Bouschet. This blend changes year to year but, the quantity is always solid. Once again, I’ve been at this a long time, but I have never opened a bad bottle of Ridge.
Ripe, juicy; blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, boysenberries, raspberries over that hover over the top. Touch a black pepper, dry crushed rocks, volcanic limestone minerals, dark, rich soils, pine tar, melted, dark chocolate, caramel notes, vanillin, some black tar, notes of herbaceousiness, moist clay, violet for days, some lavender, amazing acidity with a well balanced, smooth structure/tension and a beautiful finish that lasts a full minute.

This is a blend, but hit all the high notes I love about Zin. Bright big red berry jam and black pepper! — 19 days ago
We drained the bottle. Perfect for a Friday night. — 7 days ago
Enjoying this, though it’s lower tannin than you might find a cab from other CA regions. Blackberry and leather on the nose that moves toward dark chocolate as it opens up. A bit earthy but some dark fruit too. Smooth and velvety, probably not going to age better from here. — a month ago
Excellent cab. Nicely aged but could go more with no problem. Full bodied with light oak tones and a delectable richness in flavor. One of my favorites. — 6 days ago

Pop and pour. A remarkable medium murky garnet color. On the nose: dark raspberry, wet forest floor, saline, orange peel, just a touch of funky stewed meat. Taste: juicy, structured wine with cherries, spice, crushed gravel, and a herbaceous tart raspberry medium plus finish. YUM! — 13 days ago
