More or less the only beer that can outrank some wines. Number one in its class

Brouwerij Drie Fonteinen

Oude Geuze

Bottled 28 March 2018. Blend no. 42. Season 17/18. Shared by @Bryan Frey for a delicious nightcap and to honor Armand’s passing on 6 March. Just a perfectly balanced, funky, citrusy, earthy lambic. Best before 2038, but there is no way I could get my hands on enough to test that date as they would disappear well before then. — 6 months ago

‘20. Has been awhile for me drinking the gueze. Very nostalgic nose that takes me back to drinking at Spuyten Duyvel circa 2007. — 2 months ago

Brasserie Dupont

Vieille Provision Saison Dupont Belgian Farmhouse Ale

Bottled 10/2021. An old favorite not had in years. I remember this being fresher with more citrus, playful. This edition is maltier, not quite as lively. Still delicious and a good match with homemade shawarma. To paraphrase Fernand Point— is it Saison DuPont that has changed, or have I? — 6 months ago

Bruocsella 1900 Grand Cru Organic Lambic Ale 2021

Vintage Lambic “which has matured for three years in oakwood barrels and has been selected for its exceptional colour, taste and flavour.”
“Powerful yet elegant, Bruocsella can be considered the missing link between the worlds of wine and beer. Since there is no secondary fermentation in the bottle Bruocsella is a flat, non-sparkling beer.”
“This aristocratic beer is to our national beer patrimony what Mouton-Rotschild, Petrus or Romanée-Conti are to the wines.”

Cantillon fills the bottom shelf of our wine cooler, but I don't have that bottle.

It was the first time I had ever seen it when I bought it

Brouwerij Halve Maan

Straffe Hendrik Brugs Quadrupel Bier II Malt

This delicious ale from Bruges is most definitely one to keep in stock. This rich and intense dark Belgian ale is brewed with a subtle blend of specialty malts, which gives the elf an extremely dark color and a chewy, malty complex character. This quadruple ale has a warm, full bodied flavor, with essence of fruit. — 5 months ago
