A bit tart for Brunello. Tried to let it sit out longer and not as much impact as I would have expected. — 9 days ago
Fantastic treat, turned on to this spectacular wine by my friend Graham. — 11 days ago
Whoa, just peaking right now, still inky, gobs of fruit, all manner of cherry, mulberry, cranberry, brambly, leathery, a cough syrup medicinal quality… very aromatic, and the palate was really grippy, very sturdy tannins - early season cherries & spice flavors, earthy, even a minerality, just tongue saturating w/long persistent finish. Enjoyed w/roast leg of lamb — 14 days ago
Very nice earth and vegetation undertones. Some dried fruit flavors as well. The wine really opened up after sitting in the decanter for probably 30 to 45 minutes. Then there was some flavors of strawberry and other fruits. This went well with our one day late Mother’s Day, dinner at Las Brisas. — 13 days ago
So balanced and complex. Nose shows tobacco leaf, moist loamy gravel, macerated ripe cherry, incense. Concentrated and mouthfilling, but it’s very soft and showing lots of secondary and some tertiary flavors. Such richness. Wow. Thanks to my brother for popping this! — 16 days ago
Presented double blind, the wine appears a garnet color with a slightly orange/browning rim with a translucent core. Medium+ viscosity; no obvious signs of sediment, though it does appear like there may be a slight haze. There is some rim variation which could indicate some age. On the nose, the wine is intense. Vinous. Notes of red and dark fruit: dried cherries, desiccated strawberry, bergamot, leather and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and I would nearly categorize as high acid. Confirming the notes on the nose although there is a sort of dried green herb note. Finish is medium. I called this Sangiovese, from Italy, from a modern producer in Brunello di Montalcino with 10-15 years of age…from a warmer vintage…went with 2007. I’ll be damned. I was told afterward that this had been opened and decanted for 30 minutes before pouring back into the bottle and served four hours later. You could hold for longer but I would just drink now. — 23 days ago
fabulous brunello. From nose to entry to finish, just fabulous all around. Drinking well now, but can't wait to see them age. Have another few in the cellar. Silky smooth. — 4 hours ago

Going well at 10 years on with more life and goods to give. Another example of producer > than almost all else. Altesino continues to be a great producer that I’ve enjoyed regardless of riserva, montisoli or non-riserva and vintage. — 7 days ago
