Nice Brunello but not really singing at this point in its evolution. Also bearing some characteristics of the ripe / hot year, though to be honest less than I feared. Opened in the morning and by dinner was drinking well, at least when paired with some nice prime burgers. — 8 days ago
Definitely much better after a day of opening up. Little harsh at first blush but mellows into some chewy fig and light cooked fruit flavors. Round finish and the nose a bit like green persimmons or younger unripe fruit which was really different. — 2 days ago
Never had wine from this producer before. Quite wonderful. At this stage of age needs about 30 mins for some oak to blow off, but then it’s quite in balance with with wonderful fruit, solid acid, nice long finish, and great mouthfeel and texture. Quite delicious. — a month ago

After 8 years Buca di S. Antonio doesn’t disappoint.
The Brunello was outstanding, from a great vintage. Paired wonderfully with the pasta bolognese and veal loin. The waiter also poured a 2017 to compare. The 2016 is better and enjoyable now. A delicious dinner at a amazing restaurant. — 15 days ago
