Vintage 2010 | I cannot recall drinking this Château Thivin before. I was blown away with this twelve year old Côte de Brouilly, that I tasted next to Bordeaux CS/M and Argentinian CS. At the first sniff I thought it to be passed away… but with aeration - I tried from several bottles with a barbecue - it opened up and made a methamorphosis from frog to princess. Beautiful blackberry and other red fruit. Vibrant taste, not showing its age. Drinking supple and giving much joy. Song of praise for Gamay! — 4 days ago
Balanced fruit forward gamay! Medium bodied & great with vegetarian food. — 19 days ago
Very nice. Nose has loads of crushed granite and crunchy dark cherry, plus a little menthol thing in the background. In the mouth, the fruit starts out super bright and juicy, then it turns minerally as the finish kicks in. Fairly big-bones, but good acids. Great value. — 5 days ago
Presented double-blind. Wine pours a deep ruby and slightly turbid; slight staining of the tears. On the nose, bruised strawberry, some cedar notes, olive brine, cranberry and dried green herbs. On the palate, the wine is bright with mostly red fruits. There’s a slight prick to the tongue. The wine is dry with medium+ acid, medium tannin. Thought it was from Burgundy. Called 2017 Bourgognon Rouge. Dufaitre is making some really enjoyable wines. — 22 days ago
These old Brouilly are really incredible! Intense notes of peppery wild strawberries, truffle evolution, undergrowth, dried flowers, blood orange.. the finish is persistent, like the fragrances of a perfume, intertwining fine tannins and endless acidity veins, with light bitters welcome.
— a month ago
Lovely Morgon, vivid and focused, yet with enough fruit generosity and exuberance to drink well in its youth. Nicely aromatic, with good breadth on the palate, without crossing the line into opulence or sweetness. Just perfectly ripe. Red fruited and floral, with a nice acidic streak and ripe tannins working together to provide structure. Good energy. Excellent producer of honest, pure, tasty Bojos. — a month ago
