2016 opened July 2021. Still a little too young for it’s maximum potential IMHO. Leather and loam on the nose. Distinct cherry fruit on the front. Heavy tannic structure — more so than the average Bordeaux — and more so than the most of the Margauxs I’ve had. The tannins kick in on the mid palate. They’re velvety (With a lot of complexity that might be revealed in few years). Unfortunately some sour high notes appear at the mid palate and amplify themselves to the end of the pallet. Very much sour cherries. But this wine redeems itself by having a long but subtle mineral finish. I might retry this wine in three or four years. I can’t give it a better score than 9.1 right now, though. But I might’ve the score in 2024 or 2025. Hopefully, I’ll have a personal jet pack by that time. But heavens no, I won’t drink and fly. — a year ago
Take a typical good-quality PN and amplify everything from color, nose, mouthfeel, structure, and length - and you get to this wine from Rocky Point, a steep hill above a lake in central Otago. Color is deep violet; nose is high-octane black fruits (mulberry) and ripe cran- and strawberries, and minerality and a sweet herbaciousness; taste is full bodied with round tannins, dense fruit, medium-high aclohol, rubber and spice. And all well balanced. Would love to try in 3-5y. — 2 years ago
Reminds me of that funky red white mix I like. Had in Maine at fish dinner — a year ago
Such a go-to for us, regardless of the season. Displays bright notes of lemon sherbet on the nose and palate. Deftly balanced, with bright acidity, which helps to accelerate and amplify the finish. Should be a case buy direct from the winery. — a year ago
Really amazing unfiltered & unfined Albariño with some serious body and depth to it. Mad salty and acidic but also smooth and soft. — 2 years ago
We were unaware that Serene made a bubbly in the US. Well behaved in the glass with biscotti on the nose. Palate displays roasted nuts and a sliver of grapefruit. Bubbles are energetic, but not distracting. Brut dosage gives this a moderate sweetness, which helps amplify a lifted finish. Overall, a good assembly. — 10 months ago
