While the 2012 was listed on the wine menu, and we were bummed it wasn’t available (it’s absolutely singing rn), we really loved the 2016. Same profile—big bold red w good acidity and an earthy taste. Big tannins too. This is delicious but a little too young. Will be great in another 3-5 years or more. — 3 days ago
HIJACKED Developing deep bass notes of Smokey black fruit punctuated by a charming burst of dried fig in the back of the palate. Potent, voluptuous, and yet very well structured and dry in the finish; tannins are well distributed and evoke a pleasant tingle. With air, curious exotic spices present in the bouquet and once more in the finish - Asian anise, warm roasted peppercorns… and perhaps a kiss of turmeric? Thank you Brandon for sharing. — 4 days ago
Used it to cook with and drank along side. Perfect summer wine, mineral with a little bit of teeth. — 5 days ago
100 % Cariñena from a very small vinyard Roncavall in Torroja.
Only 279 Bottles in 2015!
Tasted in april 2016 from barrel … now from bottle
Delicious wine from my friend Marc Ripoll, lovely perfumed nose with ripe black berries fruits, plum, cherries, authum forest, vanilla, spices, full bodied on the palate with elegant and delicate ripe fruit flavors, fresh notes, delicious fine tannin structure, warm mouthfeel, round, fine toasted cedar, Llicorella minerality, like this! 96 DSP — 8 days ago
This was a powerful, well-structured cuvée with an intense core of dark fruit: blackberry, cassis, black cherry, and some tart cranberry. This one continued to develop days after opening, with the final glass being the most satisfying. Unopened, it could have continued ageing in the bottle for another 6-7 years! 50% Merlot, 30% Carinyena, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. 8/7/22. — 3 months ago
Eric Solomon - for the most part - has a really good nose for Spanish wines: this is no different. Entry level Priorat with beautiful minerality & kirsch aromas mingled with white pepper & licorice. Really mouthfilling and suave on palate, generous w/just enough rigidity in tannins to provide approachable structure balanced nicely w/acidity. Lingering finish bellies $20 price point. — 25 days ago
Limpid, aromatic, fine. Has natural leanings but they work well here. Cranberry, tart cherry, wet leaves, crushed flowers, Earl Grey, forest, cinnamon, saline, salumi rind, red apple skin. Found it’s stride at the table with rabbit paella and summer garden veg — 14 days ago
There are sinful, delicious things that we rarely make time for (in our health conscious, earth conscious, super productive busy lives) like T-Bone steaks and 15% ABV Priorat. And while restraint and abstinence are good practices 95% of the year, at least 5% indulgence is necessary for good living, and the final days of a birthday week are fine times for gluttony.
The appropriately named “stairway to heaven/the gods” opens with intense, hypnotic aromas of anise/licorice, garrigue, wet slate, camp fire, beef blood, incense, mushroom, cedar, red currant, black currant; black cherry, strawberry jam, spiced red plum, and more slate (who says 15% abv wines don’t express terroir?!?!? )
My only complaint is that the palate isn’t nearly as captivating, deep and varied as the nose. Don’t get me wrong, it’s got a lot going on, it just lacks the mid palate weight and length I was hoping for after such a promising first impression. — 22 days ago
Great white. Fresh and fruity. Easy going. Perfect with seafood or sushi. But also just to enjoy a glass in summer — 2 days ago
