7 Crus Brut Champagne Chardonnay

Tough to beat in the entry level champagne category. Citrus, orchard fruit, herbs, chalk, toast—little bit of everything. — 10 days ago

Nova 7 Annapolis Valley Blend 2017

Pleasant aperitif. Moscato style presumably from Muscat grape, but varietals in blend not specified. A low alcohol (7.5), little sweet and little sparkling, fruit-forward wine. — 8 days ago

California Red Blend 2016

The Grenache flavor really pops out and has a slight tabaco smell, but nice fruit taste — 15 days ago

Little Wine #7 Syrah

Bill's in town, so why not kill a Sami-Odi??? He opened the Greenock Creek 02 Seven Acre, so why not this one? This wine has an intoxicating nose like the Sami-Odi Hoffman 0.534 Syrah consumed a few months before. This is definitely a "little wine" to this HD Syrah. Displaying just as much lusciousness in the nose. One person said "I don't know what this is, but I can smell this in the glass for the rest of the night and I would be satisfied." Mission accomplished! The entry is dark, black fruit and a ton of it. Dark, black, condense, full bodied, although the finish seems to be a bit shorter than the Hoffman Dallwitz. Multi-vintage wine of 2012, 15, 16, 17 Syrah. Delicious. Still has 10 years left. — a month ago

The nose on these wines is nothing short of a symphony. I’ve had a nose like this only once before, and it was from the other current release Sami-Odi. Incredibly insane potpourri, violets, crushed blackberries, and graphite...yet it remained so light! Palate was not near as dense as you’d expect. Beautiful purple color. A liqueur like finish that struts between cocoa dusted fig and dark fruit. @Fraser McKinley , you are a genius and I’m eternally grateful to @Roman Sukley for introducing me to these wines.

Sami-Odi is easily the best new wine discovery for me in the last 5 years. @Fraser McKinley is absolutely killing it and well deserves all the accolades. I’m just happy to hear that more people are enjoying his work.

Del Dotto Vineyards

Rutherford Estate 7 Rows Cabernet Franc 2014

Gift from @Shawn R from when I was at his place last year.

This is pop and pour right now. Nose on this is hedonistic like with ripe and juicy fruits all over the place...raspberry, blackberry, lots of blueberry. Boysenberry. Milk chocolate and nutmeg with sandalwood. At 15.9 ABV, it definitely smells a tad hot. Very agreeable and approachable on the palate from start to finish. Fruit from all over the spectrum washes over and the finish adds some peppercorn spice. Zero green or pepper to this. Don’t envision this being a long term ager, meant to be enjoyed young. If I was guessing blind, I probably would have called this a zin or Aussie Shiraz. Unique in its own way (like Del Dotto as a whole) but it’s hard to deny the yummy factor. Thanks Shawn!

The nice thing about drinking with Shay is that you don't really have to add a lot,, especially if he gets around to it first! Has a variety, this is the most non Cabernet Franc Cabernet Franc I have ever had. As a wine, quite enjoyable.

Winemaker's Reserve Lot No. 7 Red Blend 2015

Spicy notes on the nose. I get a plum taste and definite vanilla. This has a very long and smooth finish. Wonderful. — 4 days ago

Edition Number 7 Bernkasteler Lay Spätlese Trocken Riesling 2007

🏅 Rating 93/100 (4,3🌟)

Fine Rieslings Night

Straw yellow gold color. Superb wine full of young energy. Ideal balance of ripe fruit sweetness and crisp acidity. All sorts of orchard stone fruits and flowers, honey. Great depth and infinite potential!

This Special Edition comes directly from the cellar of the wine maker. It has been released in the market in a tiny quantity after spending 10 years in the bottle.

Strong buy call! Get a case and forget it for a few more years to treat yourself.

Broken 7 Montreal IPA

Was super-chilled, and vs last try I found this IPA to really deliver mouth-filling, slightly hoppy flavour. Citrus in the back end. — 21 days ago

Siete (7) Viñas Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2001

Slightly hazy garnet in the glass. Abundant, bosomy nose of black cherry and cigar box. Full-bodied, juicy palate of black cherry, cured tobacco, and balsamic all supported by sturdy medium-plus tannins and medium acidity. Wow! This is what Rioja should be all of the time! Holding up incredibly well 17 years on and seems to still have maybe another five years (at least) left. Steak and game seem like naturals, but don’t miss out on pairing with Southwestern cuisine. — 4 days ago
