Côte - Rotie

Nice, well-rounded CR, open and charming with lovely freshness. Fruity and brisk at first, slowly developed with more savory and floral nuances coming out with air. Day 2 was rocking. Black cherry/roast plum, violet, garrigue, singed wood, dried olives, granite.

This is so seductive. Smokey, granite driven nose, loads of mineral and floral as well but at its heart it’s super stoney. Just gorgeous aromas. Palate is so so elegant and beautiful, with lovely sap and depth. Really fresh with an explosive finish. Super sweet berry fruit that i has a tiny berry fruit intensity. So pure and accented with intense granitic expression. This is stupid good. Wears it’s 14.5% very well. Long finish. A baby but super impressive.

Violets. Blackberry, so floral. Juicy, deep and complex. Superb.

2016 vintage. Decanted and tasted after one hour. Orange peel and spice rack nose was the best part. Coppery/metallic, dirty, lean and slightly thin on a punchy finish. Not improving. 04.11.25.

Lovely Cote Rotie even if unremarkable. Some good dark fruit followed by a spicy finish. Correct but nothing special.
