Sciala Vermentino di Gallura Superiore

Fruitier than I expected! I really enjoyed it. I feel like this is a good fall / winter white.

This wine has a floral nose, but that does not shortchange the minerality. There is a good bit of lemon and salinity in the mix, too. The palate shows the citrus and minerals strongest, with a very nice bit of acidity. Extremely nice, actually. I should have had some seafood with it, but it was cream of mushroom soup day, with some rice on the side. It paired quite well.

Bright, clean, crisp...everything you would want on a Vermentino. Straw yellow with greenish hues; aromas of green apple, mint and jasmine followed by flavors of white peach, apricot and pineapple. Finishes with a touch of salinity.

Yum.

Ripe fruit, peach and pear compote with a touch of dried pineapple, good minerality and acid.

2013: starts creamy & rich yet finishes w crushed bluestone ~ apples, pears, peach & apricot

Very round mouthfeel, but just too sweet for my taste. And clipped on the end. Just ordinary.

Really good. Crisp, but rich too. Almost like it has some botrytis or passito in it.
