Started out carmelized like an old port. With 15.2% alc, perhaps this is not surprising. After a breather it all came together and was a beautiful mature Syrah which would give any Northern Rhone a run for the money.

Peppery meat and espresso with white floral aromatics. Dark berry and grilled meat palate. Well integrated with ultrafine tannins. My best qpr purchase ever for a syrah.

Dunno which has shifted more, my palate or the winemaking here, but this is way less interesting to me than these wines used to be. Fine, correct and not over the top, but lacking in character.

Sashi makes tremendous wines. This is one of them. This Syrah is top-notch Santa Barbara wine. Good tart red and black fruit. Silky Smooth.
