So pretty. Tar and roses. Mint. Wet gravel minerality. Dust.

Assumed this was going to be over the hill and was pleasantly surprised. Thirty minutes of air revealed delicate red fruits, cocoa nibs, and minerality beneath a textured layer of fine tannin. Pop ‘em if you’ve got ‘em.

Superannuated, but clinging to life. Prune juice-brown, throwing noticeable sediment. Roast figs, stewed winter fruits, nutmeg, vanilla, brown sugar, black tea. A slight ripasso-like quality pervades. Good snow day wine! #nebbiolo #barbaresco

As truffles were on the menu at dinner last night we had to have a wine from Piedmont, and Sottimano's Cotta was delicious. A bright cherry taste melded with leather. Real intensity in this wine. Very long finish.

16' has it all. Next bottle won't be opened for at least 5 years. Hopefully I can wait 10.

Brick red. Fruitcake, banana bread and flowers on the nose. Subtle medium berry fruit on the mid palate with truffles, porcini and earth. Graphite near the end with solid tannins.
