The fruit jumps out at you. Best in a Pinot glassware even though it’s Syrah. Beautiful aromatics.

A bit uninspired and soft. But, I wouldn’t kick it out of bed for eating crackers.

1988 gets dissed a lot in fine wine circles regardless of which country it comes from, but, as time goes by, they continue to gain momentum in their continuing evolution from rather coarse, tannic, and unbalanced ducklings to beautiful, graceful swans--this La Chapelle is one of those swans!
