Obsidian Ridge
Obsidian Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Enjoying this, though it’s lower tannin than you might find a cab from other CA regions. Blackberry and leather on the nose that moves toward dark chocolate as it opens up. A bit earthy but some dark fruit too. Smooth and velvety, probably not going to age better from here.

Mar 5th, 2019A wine that makes you stop and notice. Black fruit, bing cherry powered through. Cola. Still very young.

Apr 18th, 2018Tonight's wine is the 2009 Obsidian Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon. Upon first opening there is deep juicy dark fruit that is very prevalent. Blackberry, prunes, fig, cream de cassis and a dark bakers chocolate. On the palate there is again big bold juicy dark fruit, blackberry, black currant, and black cherries. Notes of black pepper, vanilla with pronounced medium+ chewy tannins, medium + acidity and real good sustained length which doesn't want to end. I would think it still has a good 5-10 years in bottle to go. I think I purchased this for around $23.99.
