Enjoying this, though it’s lower tannin than you might find a cab from other CA regions. Blackberry and leather on the nose that moves toward dark chocolate as it opens up. A bit earthy but some dark fruit too. Smooth and velvety, probably not going to age better from here.

Last night on Kauai, and having this chilled in the tropical air is a delight. 🌺🤙smooth with subtle but grippy tannins.

Ripe red fruit, opulent texture with a grippy tannin finish.

A wine that makes you stop and notice. Black fruit, bing cherry powered through. Cola. Still very young.

Tonight's wine is the 2009 Obsidian Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon. Upon first opening there is deep juicy dark fruit that is very prevalent. Blackberry, prunes, fig, cream de cassis and a dark bakers chocolate. On the palate there is again big bold juicy dark fruit, blackberry, black currant, and black cherries. Notes of black pepper, vanilla with pronounced medium+ chewy tannins, medium + acidity and real good sustained length which doesn't want to end. I would think it still has a good 5-10 years in bottle to go. I think I purchased this for around $23.99.

Bright and chewy fruit abounds from this delightful '09 Cab. The nose through the mid-palate is imbued with vibrant cherries, and the finish is not only lengthy- but a beautiful reflection of the wine that winds up on the mouth.

Solid stuff. Earthy nose, tannic finish, not too much oak in between. I could enjoy more push from the middle.
