Ruby red color with aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar and spicy forest floor notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry, blackberry, and crushed red cherries with notes of cedar and baking spice, lively acidity, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy notes. Drinking well! Pair this with a pork roast or Salmon with a balsamic glaze.

Delicious Pinot. Subtle layers of cherry and finely balanced acidity. Santa Rita Hills is great for Pinot.

Called Santa Barbara Pinot Noir when blinded with this tonight, though I thought it was Au Bon Climat. (Lack of new oak should’ve been the tell). Really classy and supremely delicious. Ripe fruits with loads of savory earth and mushroom. This producer is so consistently good. Give me Sta. Rita Hills Pinot for the rest of my life.

This is the 2013 Melville Santa Rita Hills Estate Pinot Noir. This is from Lompoc, CA.

On the nose I get cherry, raspberries, cranberry, clove, all spice, orange peel and forest floor.

On the palate there is tart cherry, strawberry, raspberry, clove, hibiscus, vanilla, allspice and earth.

This is a medium bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that move into a medium to medium + red fruit spicy finish. I hope your weekend is going well, here it has been hot and humid. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Ruby with aromas of red fruits and herb spice. Flavors of raspberry and strawberry, currant like, with pepper and leathery notes. Fine tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and spice. Lacks luster, drink now!

In 1989, Melville Vineyards, was founded in Sonoma, where Ron Melville grew high quality, Chard, Merlot, and Cab Sauv. In 1996, Ron's desire to grow Pinot Noir brought Melville Vineyards to Lompoc's Sta. Rita Hills, in Santa Barbara County. Ruby with aromas of sweet red fruits and vivid spice. Flavors of raspberry and strawberry, currant like, adding cinnamon and leathery notes. Fine tannins, long ending with nice mouthfeel bringing back fruit and subtle spice. Drink now starting to lose luster!
