IMO, vintage to vintage, the Melville Estate has to be the most consistently delicious Pinot for < $30. Never disappoints.

It is like walking through a rose garden, ; a mixture of rose petal, wet soil, a hints of oak....
following up with a black raspberry, ripe cherry and thyme on the nose.
Great intensity, balance, silky, moderate tannin, medium acidity and herbal finish.
Very Volnay like except for the lower in acidity !!!!
14% ABV

When I made my run for the 2012 Wonderwall I also picked up a couple bottle of this 2010 Melville. The color is a nice ruby red that you can see through. The nose is some good red fruit, strawberry, raspberry, a little of the funk you get in Burgundian Pinot's and some soil. On palate I am getting a medium mouth feel with good red fruit, especially tart strawberries, a healthy minerality and acidity. Very nice and well balanced.

Drink this a quaffing daily wine and still just love it! Not a better value produced making terroir driven family winemaker in the region. Melville is a steal in the wine world !
