Red cherries blacken on the palate, shedding roll-ups raincoats in a hail of dusty tannins tart and black cassis and currant with resinous dark cigar heads, espresso beans and bergamot coated in dark , bitter chocolate. Sweet teeth to beast freak.

Fig, date cake, iron, blood, lavender, salumi. A treat at 12 yrs old from the bull! The warm vintage is apparent but everything seems to be in balance.

Cherry, blueberry, violet, and licorice on the nose. Black cherry, earthiness, and a mild spice note. Nice body, smooth, and easy tannins. Good finish.

Nov 19th, 2023Past its prime by one to two years. Already bricking with brown edges and some balsamic flavor. The tannins in the finish are completely smooth, but the attack is muted and slightly vinegar. Oh well.

Unique grape. A bit gamey, robust tannin (not overly so). Enjoyable. Got better the more it had a chance to breathe.
