Cuvee Villages Naoussa Xinomavro

ripe red and black cherry on nose, dried bing cherry and savory undertones on finish. soft, juicy tannins. floral aromatics show after a moment opening.

Very pale ruby, cranberry fruit all day long. Fine and firm tannins with a gentle length. Crystalline textures.

My first xinomavro. It’s good. Needs to grow on me a bit because the flavour is unlike anything I’ve had before. Need to try to this again from a different producer before I judge.

So the Greeks make wine now?

It tastes like Nebbiolo had a child with Sangiovese. And then that child had a love affair with Pinot Noir.

Had the 2021 in November of 2025. Fantastic wine. Black cherry on the nose for sure. Hints of plum and very dry. Paired extremely well with Greek style baked beans and Greek meatballs in a rich tomato sauce. The hint of cinnamon in both dishes made this wine stand out. Hope to have again.

Perhaps the best of the four xinomavro we tried. With Harry and Stacey at Kamares restaurant in Livadi, 26 Euro. Lovely perfume, very elegant.

I absolutely love Xinmavro and it's so hard to find it anywhere. A true delight (shout out to a pandemic vintage also), will be going to buy the rest tomorrow.

A bottle off the beaten path. This Xinomavro is pale ruby with faint fruit aroma. High acid and tannins. In other words, a classic. Xinomavra.
