Cuvee Villages Naoussa Xinomavro

ripe red and black cherry on nose, dried bing cherry and savory undertones on finish. soft, juicy tannins. floral aromatics show after a moment opening.

Very pale ruby, cranberry fruit all day long. Fine and firm tannins with a gentle length. Crystalline textures.

My first xinomavro. It’s good. Needs to grow on me a bit because the flavour is unlike anything I’ve had before. Need to try to this again from a different producer before I judge.

So the Greeks make wine now?

It tastes like Nebbiolo had a child with Sangiovese. And then that child had a love affair with Pinot Noir.

Robe rubis très pâle. Un nez de fleurs, épices (cannelle) et des fraises. C'est intéressant. Mais ça se gâte en bouche, c'est mince, peu de saveurs. La finale est rêche et asséchante par un alcool légèrement volatile.

A fairly large producer by Greek standards. This appellational Naoussa wine is light, earthy with cranberries, rose hip, plums tar and some cured meats. Not quite as aromatic as other Xinomavro examples out there. Good value.

Carbonic-y front end but zero stuffing, unfortunately.

Full bodied wine with a great up-front blend of dark currant and dirt. The middle is a little rushed as the fruit notes clear, but it finishes strong as the leathery tannins emerge.

Starts off but light nice tannins, medium acidity, and red fruit
