Inglenook
Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Popped and poured; no formal notes. I would still categorize the 2013 as developing and in a really good place right now. Secondary characteristics are just beginning to show themselves and the fruit and structure are in good balance. Pretty much a fastball right down the middle of the plate as far as Napa Cabernet from Rutherford goes, and that’s a compliment. Drink now through 2038.

May 4th, 2024An icon in Napa, and for good reason. Classic old-skool Napa style. Well mannered, subtle with an easy going temperament, almost backward. Notes of coffee, cinnamon and cherry play of moderate tannins. Acidity is perfectly balanced. No rush at all to consume these. Respect…

Apr 1st, 2024Tried twice! Blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 1% Merlot, deep Ruby with aromas of red and black fruits with sweet spices. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and black cherry, subtle spices, vanilla, cacao and oak. Good balance, generous acidity, rich grippy tannins, long finish ending with fruit, Cedar and spice. Will develop well for a decade.

Dec 10th, 2021A strong showing, which requires bottle age. First time trying this producer. Nose is structured with notes of mushrooms, moss and coffee.
Tannins are underripe, but add a good framework that will enhance the profile going forward. Leave this for at least another 12 months.
I reduced my rating to 92 pts. Day 2 is not as good as day 1.

For my 2,500th review on Delectable.
A wonderful Napa Cabernet sauvignon from a great vintage.
Dry and fruity on the palate with black fruits and chocolate notes, light vegetables, pencil lead, peppercorn, dark coffee, spices, tobacco leaf and earth.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.
Still young and needs another 5 years to mature.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 4 hours of airtime.
14.2% alcohol by volume.

Drinking this wine reminds me of touching a collection of Packards, gazing at antiquated film-capturing equipment and eating cheese and charcuterie with baguettes at Inglenook. Wine will always allow you to harken back to certain memories and moods...and with this one it's always a pleasant memory...of which I hope to make many more of

Aug 9th, 2018Deep red color, mineral, very soft vegetables on smell, very well balanced, long, persistent, spicy on mouth. Our last member from Napa Valley trip. And do not forget, this wine was done by Francis Ford Coppola!!!
