A strong showing, which requires bottle age. First time trying this producer. Nose is structured with notes of mushrooms, moss and coffee.
Tannins are underripe, but add a good framework that will enhance the profile going forward. Leave this for at least another 12 months.
I reduced my rating to 92 pts. Day 2 is not as good as day 1.

For my 2,500th review on Delectable.

A wonderful Napa Cabernet sauvignon from a great vintage.

Dry and fruity on the palate with black fruits and chocolate notes, light vegetables, pencil lead, peppercorn, dark coffee, spices, tobacco leaf and earth.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Still young and needs another 5 years to mature.

Good right out of the bottle and better after 4 hours of airtime.
14.2% alcohol by volume.

Drinking this wine reminds me of touching a collection of Packards, gazing at antiquated film-capturing equipment and eating cheese and charcuterie with baguettes at Inglenook. Wine will always allow you to harken back to certain memories and moods...and with this one it's always a pleasant memory...of which I hope to make many more of

Deep red color, mineral, very soft vegetables on smell, very well balanced, long, persistent, spicy on mouth. Our last member from Napa Valley trip. And do not forget, this wine was done by Francis Ford Coppola!!!

This was one of the featured bottles at Bob’s tonight, and a really nice value at $99 off a restaurant list. Obviously young, it benefitted from the decant we gave it as it needed more time than the Chappellet. This is more old school/traditional style with the cherry tobacco, bay leaf and underripe blackberry notes on the nose, with a streak of black cherry & crushed rock on the finish. Hold or give it a lengthy decant.

I can’t even rightly place what it is but I just love Inglenook. Perhaps it’s just the downright classic and iconic nature of the wine that keeps me coming back; the mint, the dust, and the sweet, ripe dark fruits. Beautiful nose, lovely palate.

7 years, oak has mellowed and has integrated a bit, good cherry note, tannin evolved and softened a bit.

Described as jammy & fruit forward, we didn’t find that to be the case. More, light, slight acidity on the front end with no real pizazz. This one missed the mark for us. At least the sights are amazing...that would be sights of my beautiful queen. I’m blessed.
