Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2012 Millésime pours a straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with beautiful notes of raspberry, brioche, white peach, lemon and honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and has some nice chalky minerals. Delicious already, the 2012’s have such a lovely balance of acid and fruit. Not quite like 2008…but close. Drink now and through 2037. I can’t decipher the code on the back for disgorgement data.

A very complete nose of brioche, citrus and apple pie. In the mouth air is needed to really give this a chance to strut its stuff. Prominent but not overwhelming acid at first but an hour of air makes this as round as a beach ball. The palate starts to duplicate the nose with an hour or so of time. Another positive ‘08 champagne ,with upside from here.

Celebrating 15 years since Holly and I first met each other at a rather life changing Super Bowl party. This 2005 Henriot is not life changing...but it’s is quite good. Cellared since release, it has held up quite well. The color is a striking gold with a persistent mousse. Slightly oxidative, I would categorize this as leaning towards the richer end of the spectrum with lemon curd, nuts and a light touch of brioche. Actually, it sort of reminded me of an English lemon tart. Anyway, it was tasty and it hit the spot. You could hold these longer for sure but I would probably just drink’em now as I don’t anticipate and further positive development.

A lovely nose of bright sparky lemon and yeast. The palate has sweet edges with bright fruit/ perhaps not as exciting as the nose. A good while ahead. Decent.

Out of 3 liter this is a great vintage for Henriot brut . Still fresh , but with tons of secondary character , powerful finish in a perfect place . It just got hoovered why to fast.
