Spending time with one of my fave grapes (Gamay) & (underrated) IT regions, Valle d’Aosta. Have always been a fan of Grosjean's lil Gamay--jam packed full of juicy strwbry, rspbry, black licorice, blk pepper & rosemary ❤️❤️#certifiablydelish

Interesting Valle d’Aoste Gamay! Bright ruby/purple color. Aromas of bramble vines, dark berries, black olives and black pepper. Red and black berry fruit on the pallet with an herbal and mineral note on the finish. Tingling acidity and a silky texture. Light bodied and refreshing. Fresh and clean. I am not detecting any oak aging. Excellent Gamay based wine does not always have be come from Beaujolais.

Shows the flexibility of this French grape out of its comfort zone.
Cool tempered forestry Italian version from the alps.
Earthy, fruity, elegant, perfumed.

Jan 19th, 2021A light, bright ruby color in the glass with thin edges and slight violet undertones. Some really nice fruit on the nose with fresh strawberry, red cherries, and raspberries. There’s also dried earth and just a touch of mushrooms. An Italian Gamay you say? But of course, and of course it’s delicious. 100% organic Gamay, this is the real deal, not some pretender. Balance is the word of the day. It never dives headfirst into the customary funkiness of the French cousin, rather it maintains a really nice effervescent equilibrium throughout. Acidity bordering on zesty with soft tannins. Earth and red fruits abound on the palate with pleasant touches of herbs, black pepper, and menthol. A lovely, silky smooth pour.

A very special wine! Cherry and rosemary nose, medium plus to high acid, just enough body, with pleasant pepper and fruit palette. Very food friendly

Apr 6th, 2020Quite tart at first but mellowed out as it opened up. Notes of tart lemon and fresh cut grass as well as bright notes of red cherry. Very easy tannins and light bodied.
