Medium Ruby red color with aromas of berry fruit and earthy spice, with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the blend. On the palate flavors of cherry and plum with tobacco, floral and earthy flowery notes. Full-bodied, well balanced approachable tannins on a medium+ finish ending with fruit, espresso and a mineral character. Grab some Italian food and enjoy.

Popped and poured a small glass for myself and used the rest for my Bolognese. The 2020 pours a deep ruby with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, dark cherry, some dried herbs and dried earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium with a sweet tart cherry thing. Seems a touch hotter than the 13.5% indicated. Drink now through 2030+ or cook with it if you can swoop at Costco for under $15 USD.

Red fruited, with dusty tannins and nice acidity. Drinking very well at the moment. Plenty of regional character at a decent price.

For a Chianti that’s not a Riserva, and that’s not really aged... it’s fantastic. I can only imagine what this tastes like in another 5 or so years.

It’s worth buying a few and cellaring them.

This is a specimen. It’s what Chianti is supposed to taste like. And it’s a great version of it at that. This particular one is a bit young atm, but soon... soon.
