Wood shavings. Sour cherries, lots of soil and mineral tones. Cranberry and watermelon as well. Smells super fresh. Palate is elegant and tart with sour cherry fruit and even some grapefruit. Lovely texture and very precise and lingering hit of opulence. Very fresh and much longer than it needs to be. Good depth, focus and concentration. Lovely.

@Delectable Wine this is the Rouge Vielles Vignes. A lovely btl. On the nose: wild strawberry, spiced, sweet red fruit, soft bubble gum. On the palate: good acidity, spiced red fruit, a little thinner than I would like, but good juiciness, lovely savoriness; leather, dried fruit. On the finish, very soft, attenuated tannin. The aromatics are phenomenal...

Had two bottles and this was very different story. One had a lot of reduction, it took a lot to get her to a sweet place. Still a great value and very yummy.

If I can get my hands on more of this, I will. It's a stink bomb (literally like the childhood prank stink bombs). It's super fresh with nice acidity, subtle tannins, a lot of barnyard, sulfur, earth, wet forest, leather. At $18, this is some good stuff!
